What a curious device this is. And, a very convenient means of communicating as well — but I'm going off on a tangent.

My name is Ruva, and I'm what one calls "new" here. There seems to be a language that involves gesturing with one's hands, and I was wondering if anyone was willing to teach it to me. I'm afraid I have little to offer in compensation, but I would be ever grateful.

Also, if I'm understanding correctly, we're to complete these quests? While I'm still trying to grasp all this, I'd like to be of help, in those or around the town. I'm not much good in a fight, but I make for a decent healer, if that would be of use to anyone.

Not at all! In my experience, you learn better when you teach someone else what you know! If anything, I'm sure they'll honestly appreciate the practice if they help show you as well! It'll be fun, I'm sure!

When you say things like that, it sounds like you're a very effective teacher.

That's alright! If you'd like, I could show you around the town today. It might be good to know where everything is. Like, have you been to the general store yet? There should still be some stuff in there for you to use.

Well, it's abandoned. No one's actually running it. Think of it as a storage of sorts. It's got some old clothes and utensils and the like.

If we complete them every month, we get a reward--and we restore more color too.

Well, people do need incentives to work! What kind of reward?

It changes with every quest. I don't know if anyone's gotten any of the quests done yet this month, so I couldn't tell you what the rewards will be... but I know that last month, there were things like coffee and tea. Sometimes we get clothing, or ammo and stuff like that.

It's kind of a mixed bag.

So, small luxuries? Are the quests difficult? I don't really understand a lot of the current ones.

It depends. Sometimes they're not hard. Like... sometimes they're just fetch quests, though the unicorn one is a little tricky this month. Sometimes they're fighting monsters. Sometimes they're more obscure things, or relationship building things.

Usually if you don't understand any of the quests, you can ask, though. We all try to work together to get them done.

What's tricky about the unicorn one?

I haven't heard back either way for sure, but mythologically, unicorns are supposed to only approach people who are "pure of heart".

That seems like an ambiguous thing to judge, but perhaps the unicorns know better than humans.

I haven't heard back yet on successes of failures when it comes to the unicorns, but it's something to keep in mind. Anyway, you can still see the past quests on the forum post to get a better idea.

It was a good quest, honestly. I think a lot of wishes were granted that month.

The tone definitely seems to change from month to month, so we never really know what we'll get.
