[Until she got home and it was just her and Shiho, she hadn't even realized that they'd been gone so long. Or well, she learned afterwards that Shiho did know but hadn't told any of them as she navigated them all home in a way that avoided everyone patrolling the harbour. Then Shiho told her when they were back and well, as much as she wanted to just go to sleep after everything she had to at least let everyone know they were fine.]

this is kaoru. me, shiho, midoriya-kun and ei-chan eijirou all made it back okay. i'm sorry if we worried anyone. i didn't think we'd be gone this long.

so anyway...there are monsters under the water too. and it turns out if you try to explore underwater the way we did when we went into the forest it does that creepy thing where it makes it so you can't see anything around you.

except there's no fog. because you don't get fog underwater! it just turns pitch black.

we ended up being kidnapped by these bootleg mermaids who don't understand that housework should be done regularly so they don't end up with a HUGE backlog of chores. i guess they did make it so we could breathe, but like, they're still kidnappers! and ugly! and terrible home-makers!

2/10 for hospitality, would not recommend for marriage.

anyway, we ended up back on the beach after we were finished and we have these neat pendants!

funny how this place keeps giving us clothing and accessories...but a lot of it is pretty ugly. if someone wore all of it together...i can't even imagine how that would look. it might be worse than the clothes we found in this place and i didn't realize that was even possible!

That seems to be a theme around here. I haven't spoken to too many people who weren't at least familiar with strange and occasionally unexplainable. Helpful when things get crazy, at least.

there was a girl before who totally freaked out when i tried to tell her i had psychic powers. but yeah. in general people seem to find these things very normal?

that's not really what i'm used to back home.

i wonder if there's a reason for that?

no. i did tell akira. it's like going hiking, right? someone should know where you are in case of an accident.

the ones my group ran into were pretty weak once we started hitting them. but they could get into our heads and make us go to them and stand still while they tried to eat us.

we managed to snap out of it though so we were all fine!

if you ask midoriya-kun he could tell you more about what everyone else ran into. from what i heard, each group ran into something different.

sometimes. we were just being brats though so it wasn't that he wasn't doing a good job. and after a while it just became something like a bedtime ritual? it wa hard to give up on teasing him.

If she ends up losing everyone she cares about, it'll ruin her. I don't want that to happen.

Because there had been so many adults in their lies who hadn't cared. Even Shiho's own parents, much as they loved her, hadn't really understood and she could count on one hand how many people did.]

[She's laughing because she had been very close to tears at one point earlier and it was nice to be able to laugh now. She does step back when he shoves her and gives him his personal space back.]

[Ughhh... He's satisfied by her stepping back, but he's still making this unimpressed face, even if his expression does soften at her laugh. There's fondness hidden in his eyes.]

Hurry up and go lecture the others for me. Except Izuku.

Yes, sir! [And there's a sloppy salute. But she hesitates for a moment, like she wanted to reassure him again that she was going to take this seriously but well. He knew, already, right? So she smiles instead.] Try not to make him cry.

i mean. i was pretty angry and worried when it was happening. but that was a while ago and we all got out okay. so there's no point in worrying anyone else.

Sadly, some people are just wired that way. Fear what you don't understand and all that nonsense. As long as you're responsible with your abilities and aren't planning to use them against anyone I know or care about, you and I are fine. For what it's worth.

There could be a reason, though. Or it could just be as simple as there being more magic and mystery in the multiverse than we might have imagined.

esp is a power that brings happiness. that is why i was given these powers, i'm sure of it. that's why you don't have to worry! i won't do anything bad with them. and i know if i keep doing that, eventually even the people who are scared will learn to stop being afraid too!

ugh. i wish we could just get a straight answer for once! why can't we get that for a quest reward? all this guessing is giving me a headache...

Perhaps it's a main source of their diet. Something they're required to eat a great deal of. We can't think that they'd eat the same things a human would.
