I wouldn't be a very good teacher if he weren't learning something every now and then, now would I?

Consider it a surprise lesson. I would rather he not earn a fool's death here, if at all possible. If he fails to defend himself sufficiently, I'll know to employ stricter methods in the future. It would be a shame for him to go down so easily, right?
