Hello, everyone. It's Dextera.

I've recently come into the possession of a potion that allows me to speak with animals. It's limited in both quantity and effective time, but with everyone coming in recently, I've noticed that there are a lot of new animals running around the town. If anyone has very strong feelings about learning the emotions of their animal companions, please let me know. I'm willing to use the last of the potion to ask.

Additionally, it seems that the thoughts of the creatures in the forest are as distorted as their bodies. I could understand them, but I couldn't "understand" them. I did learn that the geese are very angry. For those of us who have been investigating the forest, I thought this would be of interest.

Yes. Her name is Leliel, like the Angel of the Night. Some texts refer to her as Laylah, but I like the -el ending.

It's not that I "like" them, but I know a lot about them.

Angels, or beings like them, appear in mythologies all over the world as noble messengers of a deity. I think that's a nice honor to bestow.

[Wouldn't you have to kind of "like" them to name your beloved chicken after them... sometimes, Dex is a bit odd.]

I guess so.

[He's not a big fan of gods in general so angels and noble messengers of some deity doesn't really sound like that big of an honor to him, but--also, he's not about to rain on Dex's parade just because of his own Nyx-shaped hangups.]

All that matters is if she seems satisfied with her name anyway, and I'm sure she is.

If you asked her, she would probably say she needs more food. She doesn't eat anything that has no color, but she also seems to be getting tired of the offerings of the town.

We need more color back.

I like to think our pets feel the same way. They're our family and companions too, after all. Maybe it's wishful thinking, but I still believe in it.

It doesn't feel quite right to call him a pet, but a dog is part of our family back home, yeah. His name is Koromaru. We'd usually call him Koro-chan.

I've never seen a dog before, not that I can remember. I think some used to run around the place I lived when I was younger.

[ he doesn't have those memories, but that's what the people around him have said! even the dogs got imitation wings! ]

They're really cute. Koro-chan's fur is white, and he's very soft. He likes it when people pet him, so long as they let him get to know them first.

He's always been very friendly. But he protects us all, too.

I've heard that dogs are very loyal. You must feel quite lucky, to have such a friendly companion.

I'm very lucky to be able to have Koro-chan as a friend. He's very loyal. He's definitely saved me and my friends more than once, so it's thanks to him that I'm here at all.
