A pair of siblings known as the Brothers Grimm were known for writing a number of stories down, and their versions are considered some of the most gruesome. But looking for the older stories can sometimes reveal something less... lurid. More genuine.

Each telling is flavored by the storyteller and their objective. Unfortunately, we don't know all of the authors... but sometimes, context tells you a lot.
