What a curious device this is. And, a very convenient means of communicating as well — but I'm going off on a tangent.

My name is Ruva, and I'm what one calls "new" here. There seems to be a language that involves gesturing with one's hands, and I was wondering if anyone was willing to teach it to me. I'm afraid I have little to offer in compensation, but I would be ever grateful.

[he means sign language.]

Also, if I'm understanding correctly, we're to complete these quests? While I'm still trying to grasp all this, I'd like to be of help, in those or around the town. I'm not much good in a fight, but I make for a decent healer, if that would be of use to anyone.

We tend to run into a lot of trouble in this town, so I'm guessing you'll probably have visitors now that people know you're here.

I hope to be of help, then. Though... do you not usually have enough healers to deal with the damage?

We have healers around! It's just that... usually when things happen, it happens all at once. It's better to have more healers around in case anyone gets spread too thin, you know?

I suppose you have a point. Still, you really all should try and be careful. Healing isn't foolproof, after all.

Trust me, I already know. I've heard that warning so many times already.

Besides, it's not like we ASK to get attacked. Sometimes they just end up coming into town instead of staying in the forest like they usually do.

Are we unable to set up some sort of barrier?

You mean around the town?

It's something we can discuss, but I'm not sure if we have the sources for a project that big right now...

A pity. It sounds like it'd be useful. Then again, the means of doing so where I'm from was provided by a god, so it makes sense that it'd be beyond our capabilities.

A god? What kind of god?

[If there's anything consistent about Izuku, it's that he wants to ask questions about everything ever.]

Brahma, the Primeval God of Creation.

Creation... that would explain a lot.

But wait, if the gods back home provide for you, does that mean you're able to communicate with them directly?

It's possible, but not common, especially after the races were separated. You'd have to receive an oracle from them, unless one is summoned to the human realm.
