Greetings, all. This is Maribelle. Every other month or so, I ask all our newcomers to please provide me with a list of their abilities, so I can keep an updated list in my house in Flavo. For example, my contribution -
Maribelle: Healing Staff, Elemental Tomes, Horse.
In other words, what you can provide for others should they need help in anything. Cooking, magic, sowing, flight, and so on and so forth. If you've already listed your abilities, feel free to provide me with any updates about anything you've learned since then, or if anyone has left our town. The list will always be freely available at my house.
With that out of the way, I do have a slightly more serious issue on my hand. I have been without my companions from my realm for several months now, and it's occurred to me recently they were more necessary for me than I first realized. Without them by my side to keep me in check, I have, to my great horror, realized I may have become a bit snobbish.
Rereading that, I am willing to admit that it may be an understatement.
Anyway, with that said, I would like some assistance to keep me grounded, in a sense. What are your suggestions to make sure I do not continue to be so boorish in the face of decent company?

"horse"
lmao anyway most of my actual skills are useless here because we don't have technology
i can kinda cook stuff if you wanna jot that down under Michael. just so long as it's something where you throw everything in one pot on the stove and wait for the magic to happen
for the other thing
admitting you got a problem is the first step right?

All talents with cooking are important, so I'll note you down.
As for your last point, unfortunately I tend to notice I am behaving poorly when it's too late and I've already made a bad impression.
no subject
yeah i can see how that'd be a problem
it looks like other people already suggested getting people you're okay with calling you out about it
that would've been my first thought too
but i mean there's also nothing stopping you from patching things up when you mess up? an apology goes a long way if you really mean it when you say it.
no subject
Wouldn't you be annoyed if a person yelled at you, apologized, but then just yelled at you again?
no subject
i didn't mean it like an apology is a magical cure-all, you know? just that it's important. it's a gesture? and gestures matter
the other half of patching it up is trying not to mess up the same way again
in your case ig that'd involve a lot of trying to put yourself in the other person's shoes if you can manage that
or maybe just keeping in the back of your mind that different doesn't always mean wrong. you know?

fwiw i think it's cool that you're even trying to get better at this stuff.

but as it happens it's neither. it's an acronym!
"fwiw" = for what it's worth

OR i could run you through the most common stuff, your choice

I think, perhaps, it is better to be safe than sorry. It never hurts to be up to date on education and language.

ok let me think
i can give you a short list here off the top of my head to start with and if you want something better organized i can always message you later or something
cause honestly there's a TON of these things
***
idk = i don't know
lmk = let me know
tbh = to be honest
btw = by the way
iirc = if i remember correctly
imho = in my humble/honest opinion
idgi = i don't get it
tl;dr = too long didn't read but you can use it to like... summarize stuff you just said if ya got long-winded with it
ig = i guess
lmao = laughing my ass off (tbh tho you use this more like... idk punctuation than anything else, internet slang is weird that way)
lol = laughing out loud (same rule applies but with bonus sarcasm??? again: it's weird!!!)
[ breaking this down is harder than he thought...! ]
