so hey, it's john egbert. nice to meet you if we haven't met yet, etc.
minato and i were talking a little while ago and we thought it might be a good idea to start throwing together some kind of guide for the town and for people that are new to it.
stuff like who to reach out to for certain resources, maps, information about past quests and how they work, the forum and the list of ids we have...just stuff that would be useful for people who are new or people who are still finding their feet.
so basically, would anybody like to help put that together? i think maybe someone already did or someone talked about it idk but combining forces never hurts.
isn't that what we're doing here anyway?
guren has his defense force and bruce and lupin made a map. minato has information about resources around the town and izuku i think had a beastiary going and i can talk about the quests and death and stuff, but any other information we think could be helpful would be good.

A calendar. I had a crass one but it was based only on days since I arrived. The stars and moon can make a better one.

More importantly, we should make a board in the center of town to put everything.

those are both really good ideas. even if the calendar is only based on that i would like to see it anyway. it would give us a rough estimate.
if we made a board though we should figure out a way to weather-proof it. this place has seen rain and snow and it's only been a few months.

there are a lot of us now that we need to have some sort of organization or we will have people only working with parts of the information around here.

i also agree with a board. i think one of the other things we will need to start doing is maybe setting up more supply depots and safe houses. as our numbers get bigger, it wouldn't hurt to be more spread out don't you think?

Yeah, that's not a bad idea at all. If you space them well enough, you can make them at a reasonable distance from anywhere. That's good in emergencies.

I've been working on medicine that helps injuries without any side effects, so that might be something I can pass out, too. We'll see.

Whatever you plan on doing, I would enjoy having copies kept in the town hall, should one get destroyed, so we do not throw our hens' eggs in just one basket.

I can help with the more physical aspects. Building a board. I've been thinking of building a lean-to around the well to keep supplies there -- blankets and the like for new arrivals. We can merge this all in one.

I'm also willing to make multiple copies like with the map. I have an eye for detail, I can rewrite it as many times as you may need.

that's also a really good idea. a while ago we set up a handful of supply depots around town but having something right at the well would really help! not to mention a board/directory/whatever so people aren't lost right away.
that's really nice of you, thanks. it might be one of those things where we start out with a set number of copies and keep checking in to see if people are taking them and when we need to restock.
how fast do you think you can generate copies?

About three days for a good number. I'm doing it freehand so it does need some time but I do have some assistance that should help.

I know Maribelle has been keeping list of people with special skills who have responded to her postings about them. It could be useful to refer people to her, or have that list publicly posted in the guide.

I wonder if we should have a sort of listing as well of where people live? If we expect more people to arrive at some point or another, it could be useful to know where people should go to in order to find someone?

As for myself, I can offer to take photographs for people using my Sheikah Slate. And it isn't a 'practical' service, but should anyone need spiritual guidance I would be content to provide.

oh i remember seeing her posts. that's a really good idea. it might help people find others who have similar skills or people that can help them if there's something they need done.
a directory of people isn't the worst idea either. it'd be faster to find out if someone disappears or turns to stone, plus it would help people know who their neighbors are. maybe if we take one of the maps bruce has we can start writing on it for people's locations and tack it to the board we're creating.
i think anything can be practical to someone. those are two very different skills but they could be very useful. especially for people who are new and lost.

Compiling all of the information in one place definitely sounds like a good idea.

I'm still keeping the bestiary updated, but it would be helpful if people let me know what they keep finding in the forest, too, if you want to send anyone my way.

I know Kirishima-kun was talking about creating a resource for newcomers, in case we got more, but Kirishima-kun isn't here anymore. I'm sure he'd think we should keep working on something along those lines to help people, though.

i think so! if we can keep it up to date we won't have to worry about a ton of people getting lost.

do you have any idea what kirishima was planning before he disappeared?
