But Ryouma smiles at the message, imagining his sword begrudgingly accepting those words. He still doesn't know this version of Mutsunokami as well as he'd like, but he thinks he's on the right track, or at least knows him well enough.

Besides, Ryouma's been pretty dumb before. It's a little endearing to watch Mutsunokami take similar missteps.

Not everything is a negotiation where you have to be really careful with your words, but some things in life can pop up without warning. You have to mindful of your surroundings and the mood of conversations and the like. It's hard, I know. We all make mistakes. But I know you'll do better in the future.
