USER #030066 | A DISCOVERY
It’s Dextera.
Guren and I recently returned from a trip into the woods. We’re unhurt, but we weren’t without our trials. Our final encounter was with a mysterious woman who asked us each a question. I’m sorry that I can’t share the details of those questions, but they were intended to present us with a difficult, painful choice.
Even now, I’m not sure why she accepted our answers, but we were rewarded with our selection of items. Of the three things presented to us, we chose to take a journal written by one of the former residents of the town.
Without repeating everything that he wrote here, I can summarize what we found important.
1. The Town’s districts used to be much more discrete. Romance between the residents of separate districts was bound to fail, which seems to be the focus of the story being revealed to us by #FFFFFF, but the writer explains other small difficulties of trying to intermingle as well. I don’t think there were any laws in place, but the social tensions were discouraging enough.
2. The woods weren’t always the danger they seem to be to us today.
3. Even so, near the end of what’s written in the journal, the writer mentions that the colors of people around town are fading, and that he’s beginning to fear the woods in a way that he never had before. Along with the color disappearing from the people, it’s as we’ve seen in circumstances like this before. Their joy disappeared.
4. The last entry is about his best friend going missing. After that, the pages are empty.
I wanted to present this information as objectively as possible, but based on everything we saw in the woods, and the sickness that spread throughout so many of us when the Sirens attacked, I have to say this: the connections we’ve formed in this town are critical. They are our strength and our weakness. The past few weeks have been kind to us, but I’m afraid of what that could mean.
If anyone would like to see the journal, feel free to ask. That’s all.

glad you guys got out of that one ok.
and with more conspiracy theory fuel to boot!!
seriously tho i feel like that journal just raises more questions than what it answers
like obviously the guy who wrote it lived through the color going away and the forest becoming all spooky but i feel like we're still missing a lot. so far i think another group also went in and found out that it vanished cause people forgot something important, but what's that even supposed to mean?
i mean my money's on it being connected to that totally stupid unspoken rule about people from different districts not being able to mix and maybe even the whole thing with the magic rainbow hen but that's just a hunch, you know?

It doesn’t seem like the town has anything against us mixing colors now, but I don’t know what could have changed. There have been times that we were separated by our colors, but Guren and I are Red and Blue, and the woods seemed OK with that.
no subject
or maybe there's been some kinda change in management. i mean we don't even know who or what #Fx6 is yet
maybe the rainbow hen story is their tragic backstory and that's why they're so set on getting all of us to mix stuff up
idk if that explains the woods too tho
no subject
But you’re right. We don’t know why the woods changed.
no subject
or at least that there's a super high chance it is
things start falling into place somehow when you think about it like it is
you think with the woods maybe someone went in too far and woke up something they shouldn't have?
that's how these things usually happen right
no subject
Maybe someone searching for the hen… or it’s possible that the hen was a version of a much darker legend that people had forgotten.
no subject
i dunno how you could get much darker than that
unless the older legends had more details about what kinda curse it was and people just started leaving that part out... or it wasn't actually a hen at all
no subject
[ like… a cockatrice? ]

part of me really wants to say a dragon just cause of how COOL a rainbow dragon would be
but i think that's probably not it
no subject
I agree, it’s probably not a dragon. I’m surprised we haven’t seen any in this town yet, though.
no subject
but yeah considering the whole fairytale thing, totally agreed
you'd think we'd at least have seen something fly overhead
