It just showed up in my room. I think it's my reward for getting the sphinx's riddle right because it happened after I did that.

For what it's worth, I also did the quest, and wound up with a piece of fairly useless junk. At least the egg likely holds some value to it.

Hmm. What color is the egg? Not golden, by any chance?

Maybe. Like you got the handle and someone got the cutting part and you put it together and you have an ax!

No. It's black. Really hard, too.

I see. I'll have to look more closely, but I recall it did look as though there was a place for some sort of handle to attach to it, and an opening for some sort of gemstone as well. Perhaps someone else who did the quest has something similar.

So there's no cracking that mystery, then, hmm?

I don't want to crack it anyway. The longer whatever is inside stays in there, the better.

It could be!

I think I still have to let it hatch and see what it is, but I need to prepare myself!

I would expect so. Though if you'd prefer not to do all the hatchwork yourself, my house is home to at least three large nesting birds and a number of smaller ones. There's always the chance one could slip them an egg and they might seek to hatch it without realizing it's not one of their own.

Thanks! I'm going to try warming it up with blankets first. If that doesn't work, I'll try birds!

Come to think of it, the town gave out blankets as rewards for a quest last month, as well. Did you happen to complete that quest, as well?

I wouldn't rule it out. Strange occurrences in this town tend to fit together in some fashion, more often than not.

...Ah. You only received one blanket, between the two of you?

Someone offered to bring over a blanket, so I'll pile up as many as I can!

I didn't think that was fair either. We cuddled together, but that doesn't mean we always want to share a blanket!

I wanted to give her a kiss at the harvest festival and she threatened to put her parasol in a place a parasol should never go!

I'll just have to hope she doesn't see it.
