User: #FFDF00 - Mapping teamwork!! And other inquiries
Hi, everyone! This is Izuku Midoriya, in case you don't know my hex code yet.
1. Since it looks like we're stuck here for a while longer, I was thinking it would be a good idea to try collecting more information on this place, specifically the forest. As of right now, it's probably our best bet for finding a way out of here, and it's a source of food, too. [No matter how bad it all tastes.] Yaoyorozu-san and I have been trying to put together a working map, but we just don't have enough information to work with right now.
What do you think of us all working together to map the forest out? If we're successful, we'll be able to mark out the safer paths to take, as well as where we can find anything edible. The more people we have for this, the faster we'll be able to get the information we need!
2. If you've already gone into the forest and encountered something like the shadow monsters or some kind of magical trap, let me know! I can put together a database of sorts on this forum so we all know what kind of danger to look out for when we head in. I'll keep it updated if we run into anything else during this group trip, too.
3. Not related to the information gathering, but has anyone managed to find anything like tshirts and jeans around this place? I've found some extra clothing while cleaning this past week, but most of them don't fit me and they're not really in a style that I'm used to. So, if anyone needs an extra set of clothes, come find me?
(ooc: Sign ups for the forest exploration can be found here!)

...has anyone found anything like the laptops, actually? i mean, there aren't even washing machines and i'd bet they were invented before computers.
no subject
I haven't found anything really advanced! I've been washing everything by hand so far.
no subject
same. i didn't realize how much i relied on technology until i didn't have it. it's even worse than the time i went camping...

Currently it's about 80% for us. It's more rare for someone to be quirkless at this point.
So psychic powers are the only kind you have in your world? How does the level work?
I think I miss the internet more than anything. And cellphones. Some way to communicate with people outside of this place would've been nice.
no subject
yes! but there are different sorts of psychic powers! it sounds like it's not as varied as the quirks in your world are, though.
an esper's power is given a level based on how strong it is. The weakest is level 1 and level 7 is the strongest. i think level 4 is usually when espers can do anything significant with their powers and when they have better control. before that the psychic centre isn't developed enough and, like, a level 2 a psychokinetic can really just...rattle screen doors or make paper flutter? small things like that. and level 6 is the last level that can be measured by equipment. anything beyond that is considered level 7!
levels can fluctuate though based on age and training...and other stuff too, i guess! i'm not sure. i just have the powers i don't really have my interest in the research...but i've been told that children going through puberty could suddenly see spikes in their level and some adult espers could have their powers sort of disappear.
INTERNET. i miss it so much. i don't even need online games...i just want to be able to look at a site other than this stupid forum!
no subject
So if the levels can be measured by equipment, does that mean you get tested at a pretty early age? For us, Quirks usually manifest by the time you're around 4.
I miss wikipedia a lot. Actually, do most worlds even have wikipedia? I keep forgetting that something I'm used to having might not even exist in other places. I like learning about all these other places, but thinking about all these possibilities makes my head hurt sometimes.

[Though...thinking about losing her powers was unsettling but mostly because then she may not be able to protect her friends.]
i think it's different depending on the country. in japan, babel will send a representative to every school yearly to screen for psychic power as well as check on known espers to see if there's been any changes in their level. it's like a check up! they can even check for brain activity and predict what sort of psychic powers will manifest.
i think most places do try to catch it early though, because if someone manifests psychic powers at a high level it could be dangerous if they don't learn to control it or wear a limiter!
ours does! i used it to look up snail facts a lot.
[Why snail facts? Because she was so shocked to learn that snails had no gender that she's sort of become obsessed.]
but it's really confusing, isn't it? and then some places have MAGIC. that's completely crazy!
no subject
I used to read up on heroes and their powers a lot back home. Why snail facts, though?
It's crazy, but it's so exciting! You don't often get a chance to learn about other worlds like this.
no subject
[...more or less. She knows it's not quite as simple as that, that Chisato had grown up without many friends before elementary school because so many of the kids thought she was creepy for being a telepath, even if she was practically a normal person with her Limiter on. But that was a whole different can of worms.]
oh, so that was your hobby? [...which explains all these questions, really.] because they're so weird. did you know they have thousands of teeth on their tongues?
yeah! i didn't even know other worlds existed! it almost seems like the plot of a video game!
no subject
Thousands??? What do they need all those teeth for? Also, having those on your tongue sounds really uncomfortable.
no subject
[Which she...understands on a logical level. But she has very mixed feelings about these restrictions.]
espers can choose when or whether or not to wear them in japan. and i think in comerica? i'm not too sure about other places.
they're used for cutting food! i don't know if its uncomfortable for them. can't be any worse than being shot by a love dart during mating, right? WHICH IS SOMETHING REAL. snails are into some pretty odd kinks, aren't they?
no subject
[This conversation is definitely taking a turn that he didn't expect!! Izuku stares at the screen and blushes--thankfully something Kaoru can't see through the screen.]
I wouldn't know anything about that!!
no subject
hm? what don't you know anything about? snail love darts or odd kinks?
[Is she having too much fun with this? Probably.]
no subject
[You're definitely having too much fun with this, Kaoru.]
Both!!

it won't always be that way! little by little, through our actions we will change the way people think about these things! that is why, for the sake of the people in the future, both espers and normals alike, we will show we're willing to cooperate so that the people who are scared by ESP can find the courage to meet us halfway!
[She's hopeful about the future!]

you shouldn't be afraid of new experiences! it's important to broaden your horizons~! (。•ᴗ-)✧

It's an admirable goal to work toward, Akashi-san. I wish you and your friends the best with it.
[And then the mood changes when he sees what else she has to say.]
I don't think this is really the time for that, Akashi-san...
[Please have mercy.]
no subject
[Should she have mercy on him? Well, since he was being so understanding...]
fiiiiiiine.
but your youth will pass you by before you know it! make sure you don't waste it!
[That's about as merciful as she gets.]
no subject
But...thanks? I'll keep that in mind.
