#FFBF00 [Regarding the Yellow Map]
[Font colour #FFBF00]
Good evening, this is Tonbokiri.
I would like to report to you all about the pieces of yellow map that were given to us by the town recently.
Once assembled, Jion-dono, Kaoru-dono and myself followed the map to a field in Flavo. There was nothing immediately visible, so we tried digging. We soon found a trap door, which opened onto a ladder leading down into the ground. Once we had enough light to investigate the room at the bottom of the ladder, we found a large wooden door.
This wooden door seems to be not only physically very sturdy, but also sealed by magical powers, as nothing can scratch it.
There is a keyhole, so anyone holding a key from the town is welcome to try it in the lock.
** I must warn, should your key fit the door, do not enter alone! The door gives of a malicious air, and there is very likely something dangerous beyond it. It absolutely should be further investigated as a group.
Until a key is found or some other clue is uncovered, that is all I have to report.
Given that the door has that dangerous air about it, I shall include it in my routine to patrol near there. Yet anyone is welcome to go and take a look for themselves at any time so long as you are cautious.
[[Directions to the fallow field in Flavo here.]]
It would seem that we have one more mystery to pursue here.
[OOC Notes]
To expedite the investigation of this door, I will share what the mods told me about this!
-Nobody in the town has the key to this door. Yet. And nothing can force the door.
-"But maybe, just maybe if you finish up the church completely and make it more like it used to be (complete with offerings and some sort of service), something might pop up..."
-The characters will not get any idea from the town that this is what they need to do to make the key appear.
-"Anyone with a strong ability to sense holy or unholy forces, or dark magic, or things along those lines will be able to feel it by the door, and possibly trace it to the church, if their ability to sense it is strong enough!"
-In addition to finding a similar power between the door and the church, Shiho's psychometry powers will also reveal some connections directly to the church*, so the characters will not be clueless for long once she (or anyone else with similar powers) checks it out.
-The mods have asked that since "this one's a doozy and pretty plot point", that we need to thread out some of the church restoration, and certainly the service, with hopefully it being open to as many characters participating as possible.
-Any characters interested in cleaning up the church and moving towards doing the service, please run with it! The mods are letting us have free reign to get it to that point. (OOC-ly, I myself will not have the time to take over this, although Tonbokiri will be curious and keep tabs on it.)
-Once the service is set up to go, the mods can be contacted again for details about what will happen next!
-"If you need more details on what needs to be done or want to test out some sort of attempt, please feel free to run it by [the mods] at any point!"

I mean to simply check that nothing has changed about it.
After all, it has been under the ground all this time without us knowing. It seems unlikely that something will change suddenly. But not impossible.
Mikuniguro says he will forgive you if you bring him a treat next time.
[If only Tonbokiri knew how to do such clever faces and expressions on this keyboard! He would show you that he is teasing a little. But surely Mutsunokami will understand that anyway.]
no subject
Anything for Mikuniguro's forgiveness.
( Of course he gets it! )
no subject
And simply by needing to live here, we have repaired many of the buildings and replanted some of the fields.
Do you mean in ways other than that?
He shall accept your tribute. [Tonbo's laughing aloud to himself.]
no subject
Just consider how little everyone knew when I first got here. Or when you first got here since you were here first!
It might not seem like much since there are still so many questions but don't you think that's starting to change?
no subject
It does have a feeling of openness, doesn't it.
Yet if we could but travel beyond the water or the forest, then it would be open in truth. But perhaps even that will come in time.
[And what is time to a tsukumogami? It hasn't even been a year since the start of all this.]

I remember a long time ago, just leaving the house felt like a whole new world. Then leaving the domain and seeing Japan... Just when I thought it couldn't get bigger, I realized there was a whole world out there! And then I came here and now I know there are whole WORLDS!
Sorry, guess what Im saying is we have to start somewhere first.
no subject
Or, rather, we have started.
And I'm sure we'll be relying on your enthusiasm for open worlds in the future, Mutsunokami-dono.
no subject
Hey!
That's a lot of work for one guy. I'm going to need a lot of help with all these worlds.
no subject
I am certain you will have all the help you could wish for, for there are many other knowledgeable and skilled people here.
no subject
I'll be counting on you too, of course.
( Of course. )
You know. I lean on you and you lean on me. When's the next time you're going on patrol?
no subject
Tomorrow evening. Would you like to join us?
no subject
( He's fast on his feet, you know! )
I can make some time.
( He'll always make time. )
no subject
Or, perhaps you'd enjoy racing Mikuniguro?
I look forward to it.
no subject
You never said Mikuniguro'd be involved like that!
( UHM... )
no subject
Apologies. I did say "us", though.
It is natural for me to be mounted when possible, and besides that, it is good exercise for Mikuniguro.
no subject
But alright, it'd probably sound fun so youre both on! If you win, I'll let you check out mytablet.
( A beat, )
So what's in it for me?
no subject
However I look forward to seeing if you are faster than Mikuniguro!
I'm certain it will be a good race.
A wager is not necessary. But if you insist, then that is a good question. What can I offer you?
[He would freely offer anything anyway...]
I'm afraid I'm all out of the sake from Honmaru, but I can offer a cup of macha?
no subject
( Of course, win or lose, Mutsu would still show his tablet to Tonbokiri. The other spirit might be interested in some of the upgrades he's gotten. But actually acknowledging that takes the fun out of a silly challenge. )
no subject
It's a deal, then. I look forward to it.
[...Ah. It turned from a patrol to a race, but that's fine. They can do the work after their fun.]
no subject
I'll make sure to bring a good treat too.
( Tonbokiri is serious and earnest. It's good for him to have fun. )
no subject
Win or lose, he will appreciate it.
no subject
( BUT THAT'S IT. Yes. He ends on this note. Talking smack to a horse. )
