#FFBF00 [Regarding the Yellow Map]
[Font colour #FFBF00]
Good evening, this is Tonbokiri.
I would like to report to you all about the pieces of yellow map that were given to us by the town recently.
Once assembled, Jion-dono, Kaoru-dono and myself followed the map to a field in Flavo. There was nothing immediately visible, so we tried digging. We soon found a trap door, which opened onto a ladder leading down into the ground. Once we had enough light to investigate the room at the bottom of the ladder, we found a large wooden door.
This wooden door seems to be not only physically very sturdy, but also sealed by magical powers, as nothing can scratch it.
There is a keyhole, so anyone holding a key from the town is welcome to try it in the lock.
** I must warn, should your key fit the door, do not enter alone! The door gives of a malicious air, and there is very likely something dangerous beyond it. It absolutely should be further investigated as a group.
Until a key is found or some other clue is uncovered, that is all I have to report.
Given that the door has that dangerous air about it, I shall include it in my routine to patrol near there. Yet anyone is welcome to go and take a look for themselves at any time so long as you are cautious.
[[Directions to the fallow field in Flavo here.]]
It would seem that we have one more mystery to pursue here.
[OOC Notes]
To expedite the investigation of this door, I will share what the mods told me about this!
-Nobody in the town has the key to this door. Yet. And nothing can force the door.
-"But maybe, just maybe if you finish up the church completely and make it more like it used to be (complete with offerings and some sort of service), something might pop up..."
-The characters will not get any idea from the town that this is what they need to do to make the key appear.
-"Anyone with a strong ability to sense holy or unholy forces, or dark magic, or things along those lines will be able to feel it by the door, and possibly trace it to the church, if their ability to sense it is strong enough!"
-In addition to finding a similar power between the door and the church, Shiho's psychometry powers will also reveal some connections directly to the church*, so the characters will not be clueless for long once she (or anyone else with similar powers) checks it out.
-The mods have asked that since "this one's a doozy and pretty plot point", that we need to thread out some of the church restoration, and certainly the service, with hopefully it being open to as many characters participating as possible.
-Any characters interested in cleaning up the church and moving towards doing the service, please run with it! The mods are letting us have free reign to get it to that point. (OOC-ly, I myself will not have the time to take over this, although Tonbokiri will be curious and keep tabs on it.)
-Once the service is set up to go, the mods can be contacted again for details about what will happen next!
-"If you need more details on what needs to be done or want to test out some sort of attempt, please feel free to run it by [the mods] at any point!"

Ohh, that is good thinking. If you ever wish it, I am ever here for you to spar against. I am certain that going up against a spear would be valuable experience for you!
For now though, you wished to see the door? [He gestures towards the shallow hole in the ground where the trap door is, which leads to the door in question.]
no subject
[It's a generous offer, and one that Izuku's all too happy to take.]
Ah, we can figure out a time for that later. Let's go see the door first.
no subject
[He grins, pleased that Midoriya seems excited by his offer.]
Of course. Any time.
[Tonbokiri leads Mikuniguro and Midoriya closer to the hole. After dropping the horse's reins, he has a free hand with which to open the door in the ground. It opens up to a ladder leading straight down a tunnel into pitch darkness. The initial group had had the foresight to leave a torch and a flintstone here, so in only a moment Tonbokiri has a flame going. He offers the torch to Midoriya.]
May I ask you to take this? I will lead the way, but it is easier to climb down with only one hand occupied. [He indicates his spear in his left hand - even in a situation like this where it is difficult to carry it with him, he will not leave it behind.]
no subject
Is it very far?
no subject
[Tonbokiri blinks, pausing for a beat, then laughs.]
Ah, so you won't leave behind your polearm? Haha, I should have expected it. My apologies. Here, return the torch to me and I shall also answer your question.
[Having at least one hand free to use the ladder is important, and as Midoriya asked about how far down it was-- Tonbokiri takes back the torch and simply drops it down the hole. It sputters from the speed of the wind, but soon enough it hits the ground. It could be estimated at six or seven meters down, and the tunnel itself is narrow enough that it's almost a tight fit for Tonbokiri, but if he's careful he won't brush up against the walls. The demonstration thus complete, he smiles invitingly.]
Let us go, then.
[And he takes the lead, climbing down while holding his spear. When he gets to the bottom he knocks the torch aside with his spear so that he can get his feet on the ground. He then takes up the torch and waits. At the bottom there is a surprisingly large and stout-looking wooden door with a keyhole. Other than that, there is nothing of note. It is like this space was made only to access the door, so it is not particularly wide. The one thing that is of note is the malevolent air coming from the door, which causes Tonbokiri to frown, a crease forming between his eyebrows.]
no subject
You're right. Whatever it is that's behind the door, it doesn't feel friendly.
[Carefully, he squats down, peering at the keyhole silently.]
no subject
I admit, I am curious to open it, but I am also wondering if it would be better to leave whatever is inside there. It is strongly locked up, after all.
[He breathes out a sigh, putting one hand to his chin.]
But of course, the location of this place came from the map the town gave us. Mr. White should have some reason for leading us here.
[But his tone clearly conveys that the intention of Mr. White doing so is far beyond him.]
no subject
[He's still staring at the door, frowning.] They've contacted us exactly once...I want to believe they're helping, but the lack of answers from them is still something I worry about.
no subject
[He
fondlesfiddles with the beaded decorations on his spear, turning what Midoriya said over in his mind.]Yes, he has given us direction of what to do, however knowing his motives for telling us so would give us not only a more clear purpose, but peace of mind that we are doing the right thing.
[He pauses his movements for a moment-- They are, aren't they? Colour in the world, albeit sometimes different that what he's used to, is the right thing, right?]
no subject
Whatever #FFFFFF's up to, I think we can be sure that bringing color back to the town is the right thing to do, at least. We'll just take the rest of it--#FFFFFF and the town's mysteries--as they come.
no subject
Of course. There is little sense in straining too hard for things we cannot possibly know the answer to yet. Let us use our energy on what is before us!
Which, for now, is this door. [With a smile and a small gesture, he brings attention back to the thing looming over them.]
What do you make of it now, having seen it in person?
