Good day, everyone. This is Akechi.

It has come to my attention that visions are a common occurrence in this town, and I have reason to believe I am not the only one who has been graced with them on more than one occasion. Around two months ago, I saw a vision of tall tower in the woods, from which there was a shining spill of hair, acting as a makeshift way to climb up. Once I found myself inside, there was a large group of people from the Town; some were familiar faces, others not so much, but regardless, they were all covered in long blonde hair, and looking rather... distressed.

More recently, I saw a man in red, waiting at the edge of the woods. Every day, he came to the same spot with a sad look on his face, but no matter how long he stared into the woods, nobody ever came out from them. When he returned to that spot one last time, all he did was rest three flowers at the edge of the woods -- one red, one blue and one yellow, and then he turned away.

The reason I'm sharing these is because, while I can't say with certainty, I have a strong feeling these are connected to the Town's history; the latter may have been a glimpse of the past, and the former, a hint at the future, in the shape of a well-known fairytale like the many this place seems to be so fond of. If more of you have had similar visions, and if you are willing to share them, I believe it would be beneficial to all of us; by pooling this information together, we can try to figure out the events leading up to our arrival, as well as prepare as best as possible to any curses that might fall upon us in the coming months.

I had a vision about the woods, too! There was a whole bunch of people from the town standing in front of them. In old-fashioned clothes. And they were really worried about something. Maribelle was with me when it happened, and she saw a different vision with them running into the woods.

Thank you for the information. Would you mind if I asked you a few more questions? For instance, did this happen recently? Did you recognize anyone from that group?

It was a couple weeks ago now, I guess. It happened after I released my bugs for the quest to fight off the forest. I thought it might be a reward.

I didn't recognize anyone because it had to be in the past.

I understand. It was a similar experience to mine, so that reinforces my hypothesis that this was, indeed, a quest reward. I can't help but wonder what they truly mean...

Oh, if you don't mind my curiosity, how exactly were you planning to fight off the forest with bugs?

The only thing it tells me is it's bad to go into the woods and it always has been. I don't think I needed a special reward to tell me that.

That was just my best idea ever! I had a ring I got as a reward in a different quest that would let me summon a bunch of insects. I told it to summon a bug that would destroy trees without stinging people.

That's quite true. Anyone who has been in this town for even a short period of time should be able to realize it's not advisable to explore the woods on their own-- but on the other hand, that is exactly what makes me feel like that is where the answer to all our questions lies.

A ring that would summon insects, though... Such a peculiar reward! I can't help but wonder if that, too, wasn't in preparation for these latest events.

The first time I used it, I tried to fight off bees. Did it know Shiho was going to fill my room with bees?

I wouldn't put it past them, considering how much they seem to know about each of us. But even without taking that into account, the hypothesis still stands.

About this ring, though-- how many times have you used it so far?

It was a terrible plan!

I used it twice, but it won't work anymore. That's what I felt when I picked it up. The same way I knew what it was good for.

Ah, well, I wouldn't pass on judgement without knowing more details. Was Shiho-san trying to accomplish something by releasing bees in your room?

[ For instance, trying to kill someone? Because that could be a pretty good plan for that. ]

So that ring was no different from other objects we have found before... I can't help but think this is someone's idea of giving us a fighting chance.

She was trying to get back at me for scaring her.

I hope so. Either that, or their weird magic discount store is going out of business and they're using us to get rid of it.

I apologize - not too long ago, I too received a vision, and I should have let everyone know at once.

But with the latest "event", I was understandably distracted.

There's no need to apologize. Given the latest events we've had to deal with, and the very nature of these visions, I doubt anyone would hold it against you. I, too, had reservations about making this public, but ultimately decided it would be best to share it with everyone else. It wouldn't be the first time we've had to cooperate to "put pieces of something" together.

That said, would you mind telling me more about your vision?

Of course.

There were a small group of people trying to keep a much larger crowd back - possibly the majority of the town. They were trying all they could to push them back, but they were easily shoved aside. They were headed for the woods, and nothing appeared to dissuade them otherwise.

They're looking for others. They shouted something like, "we'll definitely find them, if we look. They can't have gone far."

I see. I assume this, too, must have been a vision from the town's past-- unless there were any faces at all that you recognized?

Regardless, what I gather from this is that, even though the woods have always been infamous for their dangers, at some point, Chroma's original denizens were forced to venture further in for the sake of finding a group of missing persons. But was that really their first choice? Are there really no other towns nearby? If that were true, then it would be pointless to have a harbor...

I didn't recognize anyone. But the odd thing was, I got a notion in my head about the smaller group - that they were from "town hall". They didn't say so, nothing about them indicated it. But I just felt it from the vision that they were so.

I see. Would you say it was a similar feeling as to those prompted by certain objects in the Town, like presumed rewards for completed quests?

Yes, that's it exactly, the same feeling!

When did you see the second one?

Not long after we took on that quest to ward off the forest. Did you experience something similar, too?

Yeah. Around the same time I guess.

A bunch of people were waiting in the snow outside the woods. A woman said it was time to go in and find "them." That's all.

That sounds similar to what others have shared with me, although given weather conditions, I'd say your vision took place around the same time as mine.

There is one common point in all these visions, though: "they" are missing, whoever that is. From the sound of it, they might have been gone for a long while, too.

Maybe some of the original inhabitants of the town. They disappeared in the woods, others followed them and disappeared too... A chain reaction.

That could be it, although from some of these other visions, it's clear that at least some people were aware the woods were dangerous, and even went as far as trying to stop the others. Knowing what they did, and assuming everyone else shared that same fate, I find it hard to believe that small group would follow after them.

[ Unless they were all prepared to die for the people who were stupid enough not to heed their advice, which sounds even more stupid to Akechi. ]

Unless they had no other choice.

[Any number of things could have happened. Any number of things have happened, that forced them into the woods.]

We've had to go into the woods for lots of reasons.

That may be true, but it's worth noting that most of us currently in Town have special abilities of some sort, a set of skills that can aid us in our exploring.

From what we have learned of the original citizens, though, there is nothing that indicates they had much in the way of protecting themselves from the dangers lurking in the woods; for them to have caved and ventured inside, it means it must have been a desperate last resort.

That isn't encouraging. Maybe it had something to do with whatever left the town colorless. Even without my Persona, at that point I'd want to do something, too.

I had one back in... December, I think? It was of people I knew here, though, so I doubt it counts the same.

That was around the time I had my first vision, as well. While it might not be connected to the latest ones, I believe it is still worth sharing, since they might clue as in to future hardships we might be faced with.

That said, would you mind telling me some more about it?

Honestly, I don't remember much anymore? I know it was Vriska and two people I didn't recognize walking through snow and talking about ghosts, but that's about it.

Only those three people? Not a larger group, or anything that could be related to a fairytale?

No, just them. I didn't see anything that indicated there were others around, either.
