So. Dragons.

That was a disaster, to say the least. Let's break this down.

1: Any idea what pissed them off? I heard some of them were talking? Not sure how much of that was true and how much was hallucinations by smoke inhalation-blood loss.

2: What can I as a former Gundam pilot engineer mechanic builder do to help this place? Cause frankly I'm tired of sitting on my ass. And also having to get my ass rescued repeatedly. There's got to be SOMETHING more I can do.

3: ... is the forest getting closer? Or am I still seeing things?





4: Keigo, I was wrong about dragons.

1. All the dragons I talked to gave different answers...they probably weren't telling us the truth.

2. I don't know what a Gundam is, but if you can build stuff would it be possible to get some amenities set up?

[Like plumbing...? Those are done by engineers...right?]

3. It's getting closer. And...I tried to cut some trees down but the next day it was like they were back again? I'm still testing that out...

Great. A real "this one tells only lies, this one tells only truth" situation. Only with a Baker's Dozen of dragons. This fairy tale bullshit is really starting to wear me out.

Giant robot, piloted by a person from the inside. Think skyscraper-tall, fully armored and weaponized.

ALSO GREAT. I'm going to die of a stressed induced aneurysm instead of whatever gets thrown at us next.

except we don't even know if any one was telling the truth. And we don't even have a dragon expert to help us out with this...

Oh. That sounds like something out of a cartoon or movie.

Look on the bright side. We now have an endless supply of lumber for fixing all the houses?

Yeah, but how much of it is structurally sound now? There's a lot of burned and broken wood.

I have no idea. This isn't exactly something I have a lot of experience with.

Apparently my housemate does.

Uh dragons were attacking?

One of them blasted me in to rubble and I got a broken wooden beam in my gut for the trouble.

I can at least tell you that the forest is indeed getting closer. I've been here nearly a year now, so this something I can say clearly.

Well that's just straight up creepy!

It's making me wonder if the forest itself is alive, like a sentient person.

Well that thought will be in my nightmares tonight.

Should we do something about it? I would normally suggest "run the other way screaming" but we're sort of limited on space as it is.

I'm afraid our options are limited. The optimistic side of me wants to believe it can perhaps be an ally.

I don't know if I can be that optimistic when it is not giving me a good feeling at all.

Trust me, the cynical side of my thoughts is much louder about it. I'm just trying to keep it quiet.

Regarding point #2:

We will need to bury the dragon corpses still littering the town before they rot. Would this Gundam of yours be equipped to dig a hole big enough to accommodate them?

As much as I would LOVE to have my buddy here, that's just not possible. So you're stuck with plain old human me.

I might be able to build something to help? It'll be rudimentary as hell but every advancement had to start somewhere basic.

As you say, any step is a good one, especially with this being a time-sensitive task. I would be impressed with anything you could manage.
