I'm afraid that may be the case. You see, we've had people come from the same realm but in different periods of time - and they didn't remember their companions missing for long periods or time, or said companions ever mentioning this place.

i got a mirror from the wish quest that lets us see the people who have left.

i can't hear their thought so i can't know for sure...but there's nothing about the way they act that seems to indicate they remember.
