Hello! I'm Takashi Shirogane (you can call me Shiro for short), back home I'm the captain of the IGF-Atlas. Some of you may know Keith, he's been around the forums a little more than me, we're both from the same world.

When I got here I noticed that the environment changes around the time those "quests" are completed, always after people have worked together toward a goal ... however weird it may be ... and on a side-note, thank you to whoever had enough influence to turn the harbour so colourful. It looks great.

Anyway, my point is that maybe we could all spend a day getting to know each other. I think it's a good idea for us to stay alert with the trees encroaching on the town but it can't hurt for us to come together and see what outcome an en masse meeting has. Maybe any new friendships formed will affect Chroma in a positive way in the future. In my experience team-bonding exercises can only lead to good things, and I think the community could benefit in the long term from a day spent opening up to each other.

So! I'm not suggesting a wild party, but some food definitely wouldn't go amiss. Would anyone be willing to cook for the town? We could work out some games too, like a competition to draw a town flag or figure out a motto, and music would also be great if we have any musicians with us. Whatever you can think of, feel free to suggest it.

I firmly believe that activities which bring us together can only make us stronger.
I look forward to getting to know more of you.

[ One day he'll go into it. The bloody battles, the rampant murder of tentative new friends who were fellow prisoners before he watched them literally crushed into mulch by opponents who wanted to do the same to Shiro, being bought for whatever alien wanted to be alone in a room with him whenever he won so that a victory was yet another horrid sentence. All the wishing that he had let himself die in the arena, especially after his initial transfer to Sendak's ship; fur against the back of his legs, hot breath on his neck, and Sendak's voice in his hair ...

Shiro shakes his head and buries a kiss against the curve of Keith's neck, forcing his eyes open to memorise the warm skin that keeps him grounded here. No, he can't never tell Keith about any of what happened during the year Shiro was a plaything of the galra empire, it would put a mark on him he doesn't want to own. He won't let Sendak or any of his other abusers have the last laugh. ]

Let's just make dinner, shall we? Those noodles must be done by now and I'm starving.

[ His fingers are curling in his hair, cradling Shiro to him as guilt twists in his chest. Things were going so well; Shiro was happy and flirty, and of course Keith had to come and ruin it.

He doesn't have much of an idea of what happened, although he could make pretty educated guesses, but it still won't come close to what he's endured. He sighs, nosing against his ear, hands rubbing down his back as he gives him a squeeze. ]

I'm sorry, Shiro. I'm always here for you. With you. Wanna go clean up first, I'll get the noodles ready.

[ He nods, heading off to their compact bathroom to have a bracing wash and slough off the sombre mood. A little refreshed when he returns, he slings an arm around Keith and settles in besides him. Bad memories fade with greater speed whenever he has Keith nearby and lately their increased intimacy is doing wonders for his aching heart. No surprise there. ]

Hey, chef.

Hey. [ Keith's not a nickname kind of guy -- he's not very much of an anything kind of guy; he just is, insular, prickly, with a quick temper and an intolerance for stupidity and a great love for the stars. But things change, a little, with Shiro and his pet names. He tests a new one out, and he murmurs. ] Puppy.

[ He feels oddly stupid saying that, but Shiro looks like he could definitely use a pick-me-up after the minefield Keith stepped into earlier. Leaning briefly into him, their noodles already into two different bowls, he nudges at him. ]

You like that?

[ Puppy. It makes his half-smile full-blown and crinkles his eyes as he laughs, wondering how Keith got that nickname. Is he trying to match Shiro's natural penchant for sweet bywords? That's adorable if he's sticking with Puppy, Shiro liked it on the roof and it's still cute as hell now. ]

Only if it means I can call you Kitten sometime. [ He takes their bowls, depositing a kiss in Keith's hair with a puppy's affection. Mwah! ] Dare you to say that in front of the others sometime. In front of Matt.

[ Keith snorts and elbows him very gently, rolling his eyes with mischief. He's so entertained with that lovely affection, the adorable attention that he lavishes so generously on him. Keith's done something right, at least; he's brightened up so quickly, it's endlessly charming. ]

I'm not calling you that in front of anyone. [ Is he embarrassed and flustered? Just a little! ]

No? Why not?

[ Shiro wouldn't use petnames because, well, he's officially their superior and it might be weird on the clock for them to hear him schmooze at Keith, but he's sure Matt wouldn't give a damn. He would tease them anyway without relent purely on the knowledge they were together.

Hopping up on the couch he leaves a space for Keith, holding their noodle bowls like the treasures they are. He's sure to make eye-contact before he says, ]

Come sit down, baby.

It's embarrassing.

[ Keith tells him, unable to keep from being flustered -- because what would people think? The last thing he wants is to be at the center of attention and talked about when it comes to relationships. And Shiro, Shiro is the most eligible bachelor this side of the universe, and Keith is pretty sure he can get anyone he so much as looks at. So. It's a lot of things.

He comes up now, settling in beside him and taking his own bowl, helping Shiro to set his bowl on the makeshift table beside them. ]

And you know Matt won't shut up about it. Or Lance. And then I'll have to kill them.

I'd hate for you to have to kill anyone else on my behalf.

[ Eyes on the noodles as he tucks in, he leans against Keith enough to let his weight be felt. Companionable. ]

Guess you don't want to be called anything either. Got it.

[ Hmm. Keith thinks about that for a moment. Lazing beside him, he's eating his noodles, thoughts centred on what he'd like being called. ]

Only in private. I like your dorky nicknames.

[ He tells him playfully, turning his head to nose at his cheek. ]

You have an image to upkeep, Captain.

[ He slurps his noodles in surprise as Keith nuzzles his cheek, almost spilling his mouthful as he smiles. He can eat one-handed and wraps an arm around Keith to (once his mouthful is gone) smooch him on the cheek in return, beaming at him proudly. ]

I'm absolutely certain I don't care what people think of us, dorky nicknames and all.

[ Oh, Shiro. Keith's grinning back at him, snuggling into his arm and gently lifting the bowl to set it aside just so that Keith can hold him. It's Shiro's fault for being so damn tempting, because he's grasping his chin and pulling him up to kiss his mouth languidly. ]

Yeah? [ He says quietly, becoming a little more serious, but still soft and impossibly tender. ] What if someone wanted to use me against you?

[ A frown flickers as he leans into Keith's kisses, food set aside so that Shiro can run his hands around Keith's waist and hold him close. ]

I wouldn't let them.

[ If someone tried to use Keith against him, Shiro's relatively certain they'd get a fistful of prosthetic fist. He kisses him again, lingering and soft. ]

I can't imagine losing you, Keith.

[ The full weight of that prosthetic fist is absolutely intimidating, and Keith can't help but smile at the mental image -- and to be honest, Keith would just about decimate anyone who has the terrible idea of threatening them both.

He tucks himself into his arms, food forgotten for the moment in favour of someone far more compelling. ]

You won't. I'll kill anyone who hurts you.
