It’s been a long time. We have many new people here. My name is Dextera.

A few weeks ago, some others and I were able to defeat the powerful creature in the woods that Ryo discovered. When we kept walking after it, we found that the area beyond it was strangely calm and safe. It was a respite unlike anything I’ve ever seen that deep in the woods. We even saw one or two animals that were completely normal. If you’ve seen any of the usual animals from the woods before, you must understand how strange this is.

It was a small area, but it felt “right.”

The second update is that I recently came back from the woods again with Damian. Because the story from #FFFFFF keeps updating, I thought now was a good time to see if we could find any evidence of that man.

After a long time, and I’m sorry if we scared anyone by disappearing, we were able to find what we think were his bones, plus a locket with the picture of a beautiful man and a colorful feather inside of it.

It’s possible that it was someone else, but the feather makes me think it really was him. I don’t think the town would lead us astray if we were looking for him.

A normal area inside the chaos of the woods? It doesn't make much sense when you start thinking about it. It certainly makes me wonder if that area was there to begin with or appeared more recently.

When you were returning from that area, did anything else seem different? Were the creatures even more agitated than normal?

Not at all.

The only thing is that it took us a lot less time to get out than it did to get in. The woods have always had that power, though. I wonder if it’s possible to extend these calm areas.

That will never make sense to me; the time being shorter to leave than to arrive I mean.

Extending the calm areas would be worth looking into, but that's going by the assumption it will be in the same place as you left it.

[ it hurts. more than anything else, imagining the man from ruga standing and waiting and hoping for someone who would never return—dextera understands it, and it’s agonizing. ]

His bones were comfortable. It’s hard to say one way or the other. As for that vision, I think they’re the same, too.

And in that case, I want to reunite them. I don’t think the man from Bluo would have wanted things to end like that.

There was no way of knowing what would happen. Not then. No one deserves something like that for a mistake.

I wish we could talk to him.

A few of us tried to make a map of the forest when we first came here. It’s constantly changing, though. Even if we tried to walk the same path, it might not lead to the same place, but I think it’s possible to get back to that spot. Somehow.

To reunite them... like bury them together? Or something else? We don’t know where the man from Ruga would be.

I’d like to bury them together. It depends on where the story goes. If he wandered into the forest, too, we can try to find his remains.

the area you mention is interesting as well. is it not affected by whatever has its hold on the rest of the forest?

Other people have found evidence of the hen, even before this. I think that story is a warning.

Maybe. Without knowing why the rest of the forest is the way that it is, it’s hard to say if it’s possible to correct it.

An ever shifting forest sounds like something out of a novel but I doubt it's the strangest thing here. What makes you believe you could find the same place, gut instinct?

That's really kind of you, to do that for them.

[ ...Ah. That's not something she would have typed five hundred years ago. She wouldn't have thought it sweet or touching or kind; she would have thought it a waste of time, that it didn't matter now that the two were dead anyway, that burying them together wouldn't have their love connect them in any way since neither are alive to express it.

But now... but now she can see that there is meaning to it, that there is value. ]

Does the locket with the man's picture have any identifying traits? Like a ring? Or a necklace? [ She had found a burial mound in the woods a few months back; perhaps if there's something the man wore, she could identify his skeleton by it. ]

Can we not? There's got to be some kind of medium around here, maybe!

I don’t know. If anyone is capable of it, I’m not sure they’d want to interact with something like this.

The woods usually lead us where we want to go, if we focus hard enough. It isn’t foolproof, but it’s something. It’s better than going in aimlessly.

I do wonder if it's not - for lack of better wording - pulling a fast one on us all. No-one goes in there without a reason or a purpose due to the nature of it. Where would it send someone who has no intent or direction to be taking?

I may just take a walk.

[ dextera doesn’t know this man, even if he recognizes the hex code as possibly someone to watch out for, but he doesn’t think anyone deserves to get trapped in the woods. ]

That’s because you’re a really nice person.

No. All I can say is that he was very handsome, but at this point, it might not help. We decided to leave the locket there, out of respect to the man that was buried with it.

[ a little too sentimental, maybe, but it was a good compromise considering that dextera took… other things. ]

It sounds like you're talking from experience when you say that. How many people here that are "visiting" have walked in there and never come out? I'm curious to know if there are numbers.

I think it’s better if you don’t.

Maybe we could bring his bones to the church. People have seen visions there, haven’t they?

I don’t think there are numbers. But we think that the former residents of the town might have all disappeared into the forest.

And lately, it seems like more and more people are ending up drawn to it.
