i know she didnt have a whole ton of friends here but if you ever came around chroma cafe she was the dark haired girl who helped me out there

she was also

kind of my girlfriend for a bit

i know we lost a few others recently too

thats why i havent been in the best mood lately and why im staying with nyx for right now
cafe is still open tho

and uh sorry if i snapped at anyone in the last few days

but

quests went up
i already went to get some work done on the outside of the cafe so ill probably just plant some flowers on my own
there's the other ones, though

Also, going after the goblins sounds very good. Though I'm not sure it'll count for the quest - just clear the goblins, I guess.

[It takes a bit of effort on his part to actually get up and get moving, so he shuffles up about twenty minutes after his last message. Hands in his pockets, hood over his head, sword on his back. He's clearly not having a good time of it right now, but that's to be expected.]

[Link has never been good at comforting others. He isn't good enough with words to be that kind of person to someone else. But he did learn, through Zelda, that sometimes people just want him to listen to them talk. He can do that.

When Rin arrives, he stands and returns his sword to its sheath.]

I've got supplies in my bag. I'm ready to go if you are.

[That's fine. He's not expecting much in the way of comfort anyway. Everyone has their own problems here. Everyone has lost someone they care about.

He's not special just because Chroma decided it didn't want Kohaku there anymore.

He gives a quiet not, unusually silent but clearly determined to do something cathartic.]

[Link steps off his front lawn and begins to walk along the dirt road, deeper into the forest, where it eventually fades into tall grass and wildflowers. The metal of his equipment clinks on his back and his boots crunch under the rocks and leaves on the ground.

He waits until they're far out of earshot of anyone back in Flavo before glancing over at him and saying softly,] Rin, I'm sorry about Kohaku.

Would you like me to take over for a couple of days while you get your head straight?

Right. I'll show up to help out at some point today, then, we can talk about the hitting things part. It's usually pretty good.

[He appreciates the discretion. It's hard to know just how much he's willing to let others see of him being this vulnerable when he can barely stand to be around anyone else at the moment as it is.

His steps are somewhat shuffling, hands still in the pockets of his hoodie. The days are getting warmer, yet he doesn't seem terribly phased by wearing heavyweight clothing for the moment.]

... that's the risk we take, isn't it? That they might not be here the next day?

[Cavalier as he tries to sound, his cracking, tired voice betrays just how much he wasn't prepared.]

[ Here he is, at 8AM on the dot, waiting outside the cafe. He's never been inside but has seen others frequenting it, and he's happy to help if it means someone in the town can take their mind off losing a loved one.

With no idea what to expect, Shiro loiters as he looks around for the owner. ]

[Rin is all of two minutes late, but it's pretty clear he just barely woke up. He's clothed properly, but his hair and tail fur are an absolute mess and he's yawning even as he approaches from Nyx's place to unlock the cafe/house.

There's a barely coherent mumble of "mornin'" from the teen as he shuffles by and unlocks the door.]

[Link takes a moment, considering. What could he say to help? Should he say anything? He isn't good at this, but he still wishes he were.]

...Yes. In more ways than one. [He looks back out at the woods as they walk deeper into the forest.] This is maybe the best way to lose her. It means she went home, right?
