USERNAME: #B91600 SUBJECT: Constructing a Boat
[ color ]
To my friends in Chroma:
It has been a long time since I last wrote anything here; for those who may not remember or know me my name is Lupin, your former Town Heartthrob and longtime Resident of the town. It is precisely because I have been here for such an extended period of time that I wish to pursue a new Strategy for our Escape. To some of you I have spoken of it already: I plan on sailing out onto the water in search of another shore. The problem keeping me from doing so was the lack of a Boat, until recently. I've made use of that peculiar notebook we've all been given in an attempt to give myself a Boat, but instead found all of the supplies necessary to craft one lying in a heap outside of my home.
[ if you live in Ruga and were wondering what that huge CRASH noise was about 10AM this morning... now you know. There is definitely a gigantic pile of (organized!) wood, stone, steel and rope sitting behind his and Akechi's house. It doesn't go well with the roses at all. ]
Of course this is not an undertaking I can complete alone, which is precisely why I am writing to you all. Monsieur Mikhail has confided in me that he knows how to build a Boat, so I expect he will be able to give us direction - all that is required now is Time and Muscle. If any of you would be willing to assist in the construction of this craft, I cordially invite you to join in. It may be our way out, after all.
Further comments are welcome of course. Enjoy your evening and be careful!
Your friend and confidant,
Lupin

But I must warn you that I have never captained any ship.
And no doubt my knowledge must be quite outdated by now, but I will do my best.

[ his ego's too big to give up the spotlight. ]
As for the modernity of the craft I have not received a NeoSteam Engine and so it will be running on the whims of the wind; I wouldn't worry for your knowledge.

If it is wind we speak of, then I certainly possess some skills to that effect.
[ But really, Artoria's better at the wind thing in general. ]
But that aside, I must commend you on coming up with this solution to our present predicament.
I too have been curious as to what lies beyond that bleak horizon.

As you should! It is our most unexplored frontier here short of digging down into the Earth - but let us save that extreme for a moment of greater desperation, and as well let us not call this a solution until it's solved anything other than my own curiosity.

[ He knows after venturing into the forest not to expect anything but disappointment… ]
The fact that there is a harbor and some ruined boats here speaks much in the way of contact with other lands.
But I suspect that these, too, must have been cursed in the same manner as this town.

[ …Well, one of them has to be. ]
But that is good.
No one would wish to undertake a journey they know is doomed. [
Unless your name is Tristan]But doom is all this world wishes to make known to us as of late.

Unfortunately that is no recent development - as long as I have been here there have been things cruel and strange happening. Still, I have survived it all, as have several others, so take heart. A happy ending exists in this tale, and I promise I shall bring it to you.

[ Not that he didn't still get a doki from the offer anyway. How gallant! And how…ominous… ]
