i don't know if this is relevant or not but i was wondering if we could contact #ffffff or not since they seem to keep contacting us.

the answer is no btw. it comes back as "user not found" though. that's a little weird? i know keith mentioned someone who used to be here having his code struck through and i think this is maybe the same thing.

so i have two theories. 1.) our dear friend #ffffff is someone who used to be here before we got here and they got sent somewhere else, or 2.) it's totally a ghost.

anyway that's it! just in case anyone else was wondering or had other theories or something.

I have no theories on what they are, but I do think they're the one who potentially brought us here. With that in mind, I think they're definitely magic of some sort.

I hadn't considered the possibility that their messages might have been left here for us to find. Can the postings be timed in such a manner? I'm unfamiliar with this technology.

If that's the case, things are more complicated than I'd like.

it's possible, but that would take a lot of programming, i think. it would also mean that we had to trigger a certain thing in order for the postings to go off. it seems silly to have someone schedule a post and then not be sure if anyone would read it, right?

it makes us suddenly appearing here a little creepier too. but maybe not in a bad way.

You're entirely right, but it seems equally silly to me to have summoned us all here for no discernible reason; logic has little value here. Still, you are right. I still believe the simplest explanation is that they are here watching us in secret, if not actually among us.

Not necessarily aliens. I was thinking more perhaps we are in the dream world of someone or a connection to a collective consciousness. I suppose in that sense they would be ghosts.

This would all be a lot easier if we could access some sort of administrator mode. Someone must have access to it, if they're striking out our lost members, but any attempt to override or get under the metaphorical hood of these laptops isn't working. Even just a date of account creation could help answer our questions.

yeah, izuku and i were trying to figure out how the laptops are even powered when electricity does not even seem to be a thing in this town so when you think of that, too, you might be right. someone somewhere else has access.

it makes me wonder if we aren't exploring the town enough yet to find where they might be hiding. and the laptops themselves are pretty wiped of all information. i can't even find what date TODAY is.

I don't think we can rule out either of those options. I did wonder if they were one of this town's original residents, though.

I think it's pretty likely that they're the ones who set up the laptops in the first place. If they're able to keep the laptops charged without electricity, then it might be within their abilities to make themselves untraceable through the forums as well, even though they seem to have administrative rights.

if they're the one who set up the laptops for us that means they also brought in our items and set them up. i found my piano in the same house i found my laptop. and if the laptops are endlessly charged without electricity maybe they ARE electricity?
