The creatures from the well.

I don’t think they’re merely dolls or monsters. I think something is wrong with the well. When I used my purification on them, I was able to extract a feeling. They were once human. It’s as if everything that made up who “they” were was ripped out of them, but this town has shown me what mindless dolls feel like before.

This is different.

I know they’re dangerous, but I’m afraid to kill any more of them. Please be careful.

[ he’s already killed so many people from his home that one more will not stain his hands further, but it feels bad nonetheless. he feels wrong for doing it. ]

But there’s nothing we can do with it. The dolls are still attacking.

The pocketwatch reacts strangely with the creatures. I’m afraid to tempt anything else from the town.

Honestly I bet nothing is going to happen, since the quill seems to be the only thing that does interact with the book. But we have to try. Our best attempts here are trial-and-error.

it’s a strange phrase, but maybe only for someone who hasn’t been living in this town and thoroughly surrounded by strange phrases for the past forever. dextera wraps up the crystal delicately, and just in case, his sword as well. even if it doesn’t react with the book, they can get something from that, too.

so he shows up, with a cloth-covered crystal in one hand, and a sleek, glass-looking sword in the other. huh! ]

[ he doesn’t remember when he got it, actually. perhaps it was a gift from the town, or he brought it back from a portal that opened…? regardless, he’s got it now, and it’s served him well over the past many months. ]
