So Mythra and I (Duo) took a boat out pretty far on the water with my generator and a motor.

What did we find?

Drumroll please!



Nothing.

Okay, that's a lie. We found a ghost ship, and it attacked us, but at the end of it all we got for the trouble was a flag and a sunburn for being out on the water for so damn long. We tried to bring a skeleton back but it kinda... dissolved the second we hit land.

So did we miss anything important? Anyone found anything more interesting?

... anyone have any aloe?

I feel like we need to save that for important things.

Having fun is important but so is making sure this town doesn't eat us alive.

I tried getting some other people to try to write in the book. [ Some worked, some didn't. Other times, she gave up on helping.

Uh, "helping" in the most liberal sense. ]

A lot seem to be concerned of its malevolence, like maybe what you write might turn into some kind of curse. 

Will that stop you?

I just want to find out what the best way to go about making sure it sticks is.

I've had to try multiple times before my own stuck. The first time it didn't work, I got the feeling that we all had to contribute something together. "We", like, everyone in town, together. I also got the feeling that we could only write one sentence or thought.

Also, I tried looking into the book's future. It gave me a massive headache, but also the impression that there are all sorts of possible futures out there still. It might not be too late.

In all seriousness, I know Keigo is hoping I'll be able to contribute something legitimately helpful, and I'd like to give it a shot if I can figure out what's gonna stick.

Depends on what you mean by helpful. What do you ultimately want for the town and the people here?

A way to return home?

A safer woods?

More materials to outfit this town with electricity?

Or are you going to go with the story? What this town apparently forgot was love, but love was the reason the man went into the forest to find the hen and brought about this curse.

Maybe more materials. Maybe safer woods if that's possible? I'm not that worried about returning home but I know others are.

No, I've been pretty busy. What's it look like so far?

There's not much. There were a few pages that were character profiles, like when you buy the book that goes along with an anime or video game and it tells you everyone's birthday and blood type. Kaoru said those people get to go home, but when I tried to write my own profile, it disappeared.

Every time I write something, the words disappear! I want to have a really good idea before I try again!

That's... weird. Has anyone figured out what the criteria is for getting it to stick?

The first time it didn't work, I got this sense I tried to do too much. I needed to stick to one sentence or one main idea. But it was good that I tried to build on to what Wei Wuxian wrote before me. His disappeared, too.

I guess after that I should have known trying to write my own profile in was too much, even if I kept it short.

I'm not really sure what I could put then, if it's going to be so specific. Might need to get more input on this.

OK, Tonbokiri and I went and there was a new thing in the book this time! Someone wrote that there were hidden doors back to our worlds. So I thought, I'll bet there's no way those doors are going to open easily and I wrote a sentence about having keys for those doors and it stayed!

Then Tonbokiri tried to write that we would all keep our memories when we go home, but that was too much so he just made it easier to find the doors once we have the keys.

Oh, but we can't leave until we take care of the town.

Makes sense. That does help, though! I think I can maybe use that? I'll have to give it some serious thought before I write, first.
