A while ago, you may recall a post form #A2F9FF, Rin, about taste being restored back to some of the food! We've tested a few of the foods to see what could be cooked and what couldn't. It's the least we could do, but we're working on a feast of sorts towards the middle of town-- Ruga district! We could always use some more helping hands, or company, but if you want to come eat we'll be handing out dishes shortly! It's finally clear after that stretch of rain we had, so it's a perfect weather for... a picnic-y get-together?

Also, if anyone's gotten their hands on any more food that had color/taste to them, we'll be glad to cook them for you if you'd like!

i know there are other people who cook out there too so you can bring food too!
theres a word for that isnt there?

Ah, I hadn't even thought to read what Rin wrote before we posted this. I was too excited about the prospect of cooking again.

"Potluck" was probably it!! Though hotpot does sound amazing. I think we'd need a few more things to have taste before we try that.

What do we have so far, and what more would we need? I know of all the fruits and vegetables we are growing, and vegetables go well with hotpot.

Potatoes, wheat, onions, pumpkins, peppers, apples, oranges, tomatoes, deer meat, snapper...

[appraiser]

That's a very wide variety, though I wish we had rice to finish it off. I don't think I've eaten most of these before either, so a hotpot with such ingredients would be a very interesting experience.

[ Also a waste of food, please don't throw oranges into hotpot. Maybe the peel if it's properly zested... actually, most of this stuff looks passable ]

It is, but admittedly I'm a bit disheartened about lack of spices. I miss using herbs and... god, even just salt would be a blessing.

I'm not sure what they look like, but if there are herbs growing in the town or the forest, I will help you find them! Salt as well, I believe they come from the ocean, or from rocks!

[ He will bring you all sorts of unidentified plants and rocks!! ]

I admire your enthusiasm! But the issue would be them tasting like they should instead of having them on hand. Though, I suppose it'd be nice to have them around, just in case they do have color come back at some point.

Color is slowly returning to a variety of things, so I'm sure they will regain both color and taste in the near future. Things are changing, aren't they? Just by having us live here.

I suppose... Do you think that's why we're here?

[appraiser]

I don't know if that's the reason, but regardless, that's the effect we're bringing, isn't it?

That's fair. Well, if you're willing, I'd love to look for herbs and things around the forest with you.

Of course I am! We shouldn't stray too far into it if we can help it, but we have the advantage of looking for anything green or yellow to start with, don't we?

We do! I'm not sure if they'll smell the same, but if they do, I'll be able to catch their scent pretty easily, too.

[appraiser]

Oh, do they all smell very strongly?

Yeah! Ah, well, to me, anyway. I have a pretty sensitive sense of small.

[appraiser]

I can only imagine what that must be like. I have to stop and pay attention if I want to notice by smell how the ocean differs from the fountains in the mall, or the city at night compared to day.

I used to be a lion once upon a time. My eyesight isn't that great, but my senses of hearing and smell are quite exceptional.

[appraiser]

Oh! Having been a lion sounds amazing! They're very impressive creatures, and I've always wanted to meet one.

[ifionlyhadthecourage]

Oh? We're quite proud beasts. Ah, but, I guess you wanted to meet one with a lion's body and all?

[appraiser]

If it's somebody with a lion's soul, I would like to meet them as well!
