USER: #DC143C - QUESTION FOR EVERYONE
[ USER: #DC143C ]
Hey. So...
...
Question for anyone. Or for everyone I guess.
How sure are you that you're still alive? Back where you're from I mean.
Like on a scale from 1 to 10. Where 1 is "I definitely died" and 10 is "I'm definitely still alive" and everything in between.
Thanks in advance. I know it's a weird question. I just... I gotta know.
[He's asked some folks, but the results so far are mixed. And Keith needs to figure out one way or another if this is just some weird unexpected afterlife, and he's at a solid 2.5 on his own scale so he's wondering.]

and where would you rate yourself? if you're a 1 i should warn you that i know of at least one person [Her best friend.] who is deathly afraid of ghost and they'll shoot first and ask questions later so you best not mention that to them.

I'm hovering around a two. But even if I weren't, I'm not a ghost either way.
Though.
Is shooting a ghost even a helpful idea?
no subject
sorry. it must suck to have to worry about whether you're dead or not wherever you came from.
i don't think fear is really logical...
no subject
Honestly, mostly I'm just annoyed to be jerked around by whoever or whatever brought us here.
I guess that's true. Phobias and all.
no subject
exactly. besides, it stops people from playing pranks on them.
[Except her. But she gets a special pass for 1, not doing it often and 2, being her best friend.]
no subject
...that's kind of extreme as a reaction to pranks.
[Keith votes not shooting people unless there's a really solid reason behind it. And if Keith is being the voice of restraint, that's a sad day.]

we'll need to leave some for the others too. i'm sure there will be a line of people who want to give them something.
oh they don't use real bullets! they have a stun gun. and sometimes they used tranquilizers but those have been confiscated.
no subject
Oh.
That uh... is... better..? Maybe.
no subject
only maybe?
no subject
Still sort of shooting. But I guess better than lethal measures. That'd only create more ghosts anyway.
[Haha look he made a joke... someone help him.]
no subject
[It would be nice if it did though.]
haha. don't tell them that.

I'm not buying the accident line. Why not come out any say something? Why hide? Why have things prepared for us specifically if it's some sort of screw up?
Maybe not a button, but if we were brought in, there's a way out too. Haven't met many doors that are only one way, and even if this one is, I'm not planning on accepting that without fighting to find another way.
no subject
that doesn't seem fair.
[And as someone who had accidentally sent her mom to the hospital, who had spent her whole life having people make assumptions about her based on powers she didn't always have control over? This is sort of important.]
but you're right. there must be a way out and even if the door is one way then we'll just make a hole in the wall! nothing is impossible as long as we don't give up, right?
no subject
You're really trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. If it turns out this is some cosmic accident, fine. I'm not going to attack someone who genuinely made a mistake, especially if they're willing to work to undo it. But so far all evidence I've seen points to intent. This many people from different worlds, but also clusters of folks who know each other. Pre-prepared items for us to use, specifically coded to us as individuals. That isn't what an accident looks like.
[Keith is really kind of over people playing devil's advocate for the unnamed and unseen person or force or thing that brought them here. But his nature is to fight like hell first and ask questions later so maybe that' snot surprising.]
Exactly. Nothing is hopeless as long as we're all still moving forward. And there's enough of us that if we work together, I think we'll manage whatever we need to.
no subject
i'm not sure how some people coming from the same place makes it suspicious but i do get you about the laptops. whether or not our being here is an accident that part definitely wasn't
[She also thinks his not considering it could still be an accident indicates a lack of an imagination. But maybe just that he didn't have the sort of friend who accidentally shoots someone with a tranquilizer then purposefully set up the area so it looked like her victim had passed out after excessive drinking.]
right! and with so many people from other worlds, we'll definitely be able to find some kind of solution!
no subject
I think we all caught the attention of who/whatever brought us here. And some of us caught their attention along with our friends.
[Nope. Keith is firm on this. Accidents don't come with personalized network access and groups of BFFs. Keith will die on that hill. But Keith has a lot of hills to die on, such is life. What he's not yet sure is if this is malicious or some ill-thought-out cry for help.]
And get home.
