How sure are you that you're still alive? Back where you're from I mean.

Like on a scale from 1 to 10. Where 1 is "I definitely died" and 10 is "I'm definitely still alive" and everything in between.

Thanks in advance. I know it's a weird question. I just... I gotta know.

Signing your name is the common thing to do when writing a letter, isn't it? Those numbers certainly aren't very cordial.

What "something else" do you think it is?

Yeah but this isn't a letter. It's barely even a text message.

Also, no one writes letters anymore.

An alternate reality that we've all been dropped into by some jerks who aren't brave enough to show their faces or tell us what they want with us.

It doesn't seem very different to me. We are writing to one another, after all.

Alternate reality? That sounds impossible, but so does being here. People seem to have come from different times and places; perhaps that's the most logical explanation, if you can call it logical.

Yeah. I mean Kind of? I guess.

I've been to an alternate reality before. They're very possible. But I've never been osmewhere with people dragged simultaneously from so many different realities. I don't know what to make of it at all.

If you insist, then I will take your word for it. What were the circumstances of your last trip to another world?

Well.

There was this comet. A trans-reality comet that tore a rift between our universe and this other universe. And we were able to take Voltron through the rift and explore beyond it. And we found a world like ours but not at all like ours. It was twisted up somehow, wrong in so many ways.

Well, yeah actually. But I only met him here.

We're not from the same world, if that's the question.

You aren't? How strange. He also told me a story about a comet and traveling between worlds.

Huh. Yeah different comets I assume. And definitely different worlds. The things he and his pals can do aren't something I've ever seen back home. One guy flew me out of the well -- no tech, just flying.

There are a few people here that seem to be capable of extraordinary things. I thought I was dreaming at first, to be perfectly honest.

Yeah, some people have really unique abilities.

I think I've readjusted my level of disbelief already, after everything back home. But it's still a little surreal.

I'm still working to reach that level, I'm afraid. What's a Voltron, by the by?

Oh. Right.

Look it's gonna sound weird. It still sounds weird to me. But okay.

Voltron is an ancient weapon built by a long-(mostly)-dead alien race in the form of a giant robot warrior comprised of five individual lion robot warships that are all partially sentient and piloted by a chosen Paladin.

You'd think so, right? But nope., all true. Every word.

In that case, I think you should write a book about your life.

Ha. On the off chance I live through the war, I'll keep the memoir idea in mind.
