Question for anyone. Or for everyone I guess.

How sure are you that you're still alive? Back where you're from I mean.

Like on a scale from 1 to 10. Where 1 is "I definitely died" and 10 is "I'm definitely still alive" and everything in between.

Thanks in advance. I know it's a weird question. I just... I gotta know.



[He's asked some folks, but the results so far are mixed. And Keith needs to figure out one way or another if this is just some weird unexpected afterlife, and he's at a solid 2.5 on his own scale so he's wondering.]

Yeah, I think that's pretty much what it depends on.

I'm fine. I'm asking because I'm around a 2. I'm pretty sure I was going to die, I'm just not sure if I did or not yet.

And honestly, if I didn't, I need to get back and make sure what I was doing didn't get thrown off by my being brought here.

Judging by the rest of the answers, it looks like a lot of us are certain that we're still alive. That's a good sign, isn't it?

Did you sustain any injuries when you ended up here? That's probably a good place to start, too.

No, no injuries. I'm in one piece -- which if the ships had collided already, I have a lot of trouble believing I would be.

That probably means you're safe, then!

Getting back is a whole other problem, though. Especially since it looks like we're stuck in another reality altogether. Have you had any experience with them? It would be helpful if we could figure out a way to at least send messages back home...

Yeah maybe.

With other realities? Yeah. I've been to one before. I don't get the details of the science behind them, but I know the basic theory and all.

Really? You're the second person I've met who seem to have already dealt with this kind of thing before.

Do you think communication of any kind would be possible? I could ask Keith what he thinks, too. He's the other guy I mentioned!

But, I think we need way more information. It's definitely some sort of alternate reality though. It has to be. Though it could be some piece of someone's world who's here. But no one I've talked to seems to recognize it.

Same here. Nobody I've talked to has recognized this place either.

So I'm guessing that definitely lowers our chances of trying to communicate with our home worlds...?

Communications seem pretty impossible, yeah. My com is out entirely, even if the rest of my suit's tech mostly seems fine.

My cellphone isn't picking up any signals either, but to be fair, I wasn't really expecting to when I turned it on to check.

That probably means the only way we can verify how things turned out back home is by going back where we belong ourselves.

It'd be a pretty impressive cellphone to get signal through realities.

But yeah. Sort of looks that way, doesn't it? It all comes down to the fact that we need to get back to where we belong.

If any cellphone company manages to do it, I think we'd have to give them a medal.

It sucks, but we do have a lot of great people here. If we all work together, we're more likely to find something useful and figure this all out int he end.
