Any of you who were able to go to the town meeting organized by Mitsuru will know that we discussed a designated defense force for the town. For those of you who weren't, or for anyone who wants a recap, I'll go over this as briefly as I can.

We know the forest is full of creatures not everyone understands, and that those dangers— or something similar— can leak into the town and cause trouble here, too. Those shadows were a perfect example, just like the speaking furniture. We're not always safe, and while there isn't always a threat that we can deal with physically to overcome it, having a defense force would make a lot of people more comfortable. Having people that are physically capable with someone at the top to organize them would be helpful to everyone, I think, especially those who aren't so combat ready.

So, I'm stepping up as leader. I didn't hear any opposition to that at the meeting itself, but if you want to know more about me, you can ask me whatever you want. Here's what I'm going to ask of all of you.

If you're interested in helping and capable in combat, no matter what methods you may use, then I'm asking you to sign up here. I'll keep a list of everyone, including their abilities and strengths/weaknesses, and organize this in a way that's most efficient. In order to do that, I also need suggestions.

Izuku mentioned patrols near the forest. That's one idea, and I want to hear any others that are out there, but here's the basic rundown:

I'll organize people by their strengths and put them in charge of certain activities or areas. How I do this depends on the number of people that sign up. If enough people sign up, I might assign ranks just enough for people to be able to report to someone even if I'm unable to be contacted or out of reach somehow. Once everyone who has wanted to has signed up, we'll schedule meetings and discuss what to do in case of an emergency, or other situations. Basic things like that are what I'm looking into, and most of it will come after I've heard from all of you, but let me know if you have any questions on any of it.

Before I end this, I have another quick question. What do you think our biggest weakness has been in all of this? What has caused the most harm, and if there was a drug that could aid you in this place, what would it be? A first aid or pain reducer? Strength enhancers? Magic resistance?

That's all. I'll answer any questions at any time as soon as I can.

Just kidding, he knows his location, so he's already down the hall and kicking open Yata's door. He will not respond to this thread and fuel this fire!!! Instead, comical fighting will do.]

You think you're funny? Let's see you joke to my face, lover boy.

[ Fushimi very calmly clicks his laptop closed and turns the world's most unimpressed (he's been practicing!) look at Guren. ]

Am I meant to be scared of you? You're like, eighty, right?

[ And then, with fake innocence that Fushimi can absolutely not sell in the slightest: ]

Is that robbing the cradle?

Ahaha. The one in puppy love is barking at me. You're just giving me an excuse to let out some pent up rage, you know that?

[He draws his sword, because he knows Fushimi can take it, and the tension rises as Mahiru's energy seeps out from the blade. Oh boy.]

If you're that angry, doesn't that just mean it's true?

[ Hey, you know what Fushimi hasn't gotten to use in awhile? His sword. He flips it up from where he's been keeping it shoved safely half-underneath Yata's mattress, and clicks to pull it out of the sheath. ]

Fushimi, emergency release. [ It doesn't sound like he's talking to Guren when he says it, just like it's almost part of a ritual. Either way, he's got a sword and that faint blue aura around it. ]

Think whatever you want. I don't care.

[He says, caring so much he's fighting with a sword. But it's fine! Now, he's pumped up, and he's ready to go! So, he goes straight for Fushimi, swinging his sword. It's not like he's borrowing as much of Mahiru's strength as possible, or anything. Just enough to make Fushimi put in a lot in return.]

You say that, but -- [ Fighting with the sword is a little less natural on Fushimi, to the trained eye; he hasn't been doing it as much as he has with his knives, and it shows, just a little, if someone is looking.

Fushimi couldn't hold his own against Guren if Guren was using his full strength, and he knows that, but this kind of a fight isn't really about winning beyond the shadow of a doubt, is it? It's just about the fight, so Fushimi is swinging back, the clang of metal loud enough that it's good no one else is home.

Fushimi's fight style makes it a little obvious that he used to be in a street gang, however much he tries to hide the fact; his movements aren't the practiced, careful movements of a professional swordsman, and he uses his sword in one hand while keeping his other free to throw knives --

usually, but he isn't throwing them right now, since he doesn't want to wind up breaking any of the remaining furniture in the house. ]

Aren't you just defending his honor?

[It's just a fun fight, without too much aggression, but letting out plenty of stress. Guren still doesn't want to just let him slide, so that comment gets a laugh, and then he's pushing forward a little more, using the rustiness of Fushimi's technique to press forward between swipes and knee him in the gut.

Friendly roughhousing with Guren is still a little rougher than it should be.

That's his only answer to that, anyway.]

[ The pain is almost refreshing. It isn't a mortal wound and isn't dangerous, just a flash of negative sensation that spurs Fushimi into a little better movement, a little faster, a little stronger.

He goes down, parrying the sword and reaching out to swipe his hand out, knife safely in palm, towards Guren's leg. He doesn't intend to hit, but pretends that he does in an attempt to get Guren to dodge it, and then throw the dagger to embed back in the baseboards of the horrible wallpaper in the room, red power flaring up like a net to throw Guren off balance.

This is fun; he needs to do this more often. ]

[This is fun. Guren plays along, knocks a dagger or two away, calls Fushimi on a bluff at one point by refusing to move at an attack and flipping him over instead, and things continue from there. Guren can stop his sword on a dime, so he relies entirely on his elbows, legs and free arm for injuries. A punch across the face isn't out of the question, and he takes a few more punches than he really has to, himself.

It's hard to say how long this lasts, but it definitely gets all of their energy out. At one point, he has Fushimi up against the wall, pinned with one arm, the other holding his sword ready, and that's enough of a win that he drops it all, stepping back with a breathy laugh.

He drops to sit on the floor with a sigh, rubbing at his bruised person but looking... happier than before all of this.]

[ Fushimi's breathing is coming hard, even after he slides down the wall to sit on the floor. He's a little bruised and battered, and he'll probably be sore for a few days -- he doesn't have any of Guren's enhanced healing, after all -- but at the same time, a good amount of tension has left his frame.

Ugh, this is like friendship, isn't it? Fushimi feels like protesting this late in the game is a little useless. ]

... you think Misaki or Dextera is going to be more upset with us?

[ It was Yata's room, but at least the damages were. Pretty minimal. To the room. ]

Yata.

[Guren laughs, sheathing his sword and resting back on his palms with a sigh. He's beat up, but Dextera probably won't see him until he's already healed. This is Yata's room, though. So, Fushimi is screwed.]

Also, it's all your fault.

[ Fushimi drags the sheath for his sword back up to click it away, trying to regain his ability to breathe. It's a little rougher than he was expecting, but that's fine, assuming that tomorrow doesn't break out into shadows or chaos or something. ]

You came at me with a weapon. It was self defense.

[In response to that, Guren reaches up onto Yata's bed, snags a pillow, and smacks it right into Fushimi.]

[ Fushimi just kind of falls over, no energy left to try and fight back. There's a burst of static after a second, though, and then enough of a shock launched at Guren to make his hair stand on in for a few seconds -- nothing more than skidding across carpet in socked feet. ]

If you start another fight, Misaki really will yell at you.
