Yay democracy.
Anyway.
We learned that woods hermits like to keep journals? Like, really really like to keep journals.
This guy kept track of everything. And it starts out pretty… mundane, but then it all gets a lot weirder. Apparently the woods started talking to whoever this forest journaler was, and apparently it wanted something.
Not… that he was kind enough to say what it wanted. But I’m going to go out on a limb and say nothing good.
So. There’s that.
The woods have apparently sucked for longer than we’ve been here. Maybe whatever happened to the town’s color and uh, residents, had something to do with that.
Maybe.
if you want to see the books theyre at my place
my place being me dave
so feel free to come see
john or i will let you in
if were there
probably plan for a time we are there
anyway thats all for today guys

As for the books : all within the library are fairy tales, but there was an exception in that cottage? Interesting. I'll have to give them a read sometime.

The first idea would be burning it, but then that has potential to grow dangerously out of control. Cutting it one by one would be the second option.

Aside from the books and some old looking food supplies there wasn't a lot there. And then the shadows started getting a little aggressive. So we grabbed what we could and tried to get out of there.

We were pretty lucky. It was when we first arrived, so I don't think we really got how dangerous the woods can be.
But yeah, that about sums it up. Looked like the cottage had been there a long time, and like it had been empty a long time too.

Oh I'm not being humble. I mean it. Nothing we did affected them at all. My sword went through them and they kept coming. They had us and just dropped us at the edge of the woods with a chill that lingered for weeks. But they could have killed us without a doubt. We're genuinely lucky they didn't.
But getting the books was worth it, as things turned out.

[translated : take the damn compliment you jackass]
If they wanted to kill you but didn't, there could be a reason for it. We must always inspect every aspect of this mysterious place.

Oh see, that's where you're confused. I'm not one of those.
[Not a gentleman. And humble isn't something he gets accused of often.]
We're worth more alive than dead, or were at the time. Whatever that worth happens to be based on.

[Don't let yourself become her pet project, Keith. RUN!]

Sure, I bet they do. But I'd rather put my time and effort elsewhere.
[This mullet cannot be tamed, Maribelle.]
