As much as I would indulge in the pleasantries, I have something important to talk about first. Seeing as we're going to be here... a little longer than most of us want to, our biggest concern would be our organization. There have been previous talk of "roles in the community", soldati courtesy of Guren, and a town meeting, which are all very important. On top of all this, I believe it'll be in our best interest to have an outspoken few to continue with town meetings to discuss issues and relay important information to each other, just to keep things in the most order than we have the power to control ourselves, and also to refrain from keeping the town meetings from being too cluttered with people.

This isn't to say I don't want everyone heard, I just want everyone to look to a handful of people to voice their concerns, ideas and news to, and for those people to then brainstorm together or spread information to everyone. Much like a counsel!

(ﾐⓛᆽⓛﾐ)✧ We should volunteer a good two-three vocal persons from each of the districts, just to make the whole "relaying information" and "discussing problems" situation easier. They'd need to be unbiased, and comfortable to approach privately if needed (since posting things on the public forum can sometimes be anxiety-inducing), and someone who will be an active member of our little in-the-meantime community.

Well, sure, but the bustling of everyone is bound to be drowned out by a few of the other louder voices. This was just a way to prevent that. Besides, we really would only need it for any decisions we couldn’t discuss over the forum, since this probably is the best place to talk about most things.

i think thats likely to cause a different sort of drowning out
like if we tell shit to a few people they decide what of that matters
otherwise if they do just say everything we say
it woudlnt be necessary
so youre suggesting we pick people to decide for us what of what we say is worth hearing
right

im not sure i see the purpose behind one basically
there arent so many of us we cant all attend the meetings and talk to one another
and i think its almost better to have loose to no structure politically
it isnt like we know who all will stay or go

I'm with Dave. If there were a much larger number of people here, you might be right. But there are fewer than 100 people. It's possible for everyone to speak up, and while you might think you're just giving a pathway for those quieter types to be heard, it can actually feel like you're filtering out details when you have one person take in the information of a whole group.

In this case, I think town meetings should welcome everyone, and you'll have the people who are the louder voices showing up and speaking up more than the quiet ones, anyway. People who have opinions that they want to be heard will get them out there somehow.

I don't think it would be a bad thing for people to step up and take voiced concerns into action, though. Like, everyone agreeing there should be a clinic, so someone steps up and decides they'll head the clinic project. Things like that.

The goal would be to make it easier to protect the town and make rational decisions based on information we have, then have a town with over half of it's participates being children try to run a town when the most they should be worrying about at their age is what they should wear tomorrow for school.

I'm not saying everyone shouldn't be heard. I'm saying that if we're going to be stuck here for a while we need a structure, else risking letting things fall apart.

I've seen it happen before and I'd hate to see it happen again.

I know what you're saying, but I don't think it's going to work here, like this. I think the other replies here show that.

Forget about the past. I know it's difficult, but this is an entirely different situation. This isn't a normal group of people. This isn't even culture shock. We're all from wildly different worlds.

As long as we have each other's backs right now, we'll be fine. I'll do my best to help things work out. I promise.

The rebellious, leader sort seems plentiful, for sure.

And that's the issue, that all of this is entirely new and uncharted waters. But the fact remains that this is still a town, and having some kind of stability needs to be done. For the younger demographic we have, this holds especially true.

I appreciate the comfort, but it's still uneasy.

It's probably going to feel uneasy no matter what. All I can do is ask you to trust me.

It's not that I don't trust you, signore.

Then trust me to take care of it, too. I won't let things fall apart.

No offense signore, but that's not a thing I could trust on any one person.

Then you'll just have to worry and see how things out while I do what I can.

i'd rather speak for myself like everyone else though
whether they're unbiased or not
or approachable or not
i think it's important for us all to represent ourselves

rather than speakers, i think we should have a suggestion box or board
if people are shy or don't want to talk then they can just write something in there

Well, that's what I feel as if the forum is for, amico. But I also feel strongly about people making sure there's structure to our concerns. It's not even for political things, I could really care less about that.

It would be a matter of the people who are used to issues talking amongst the others for a foundation so things don't end up falling to hell while we have things like our shadows and bull creatures and trolls and such providing us with the threat of death.
