Hello, everyone. It's Dextera.
I've recently come into the possession of a potion that allows me to speak with animals. It's limited in both quantity and effective time, but with everyone coming in recently, I've noticed that there are a lot of new animals running around the town. If anyone has very strong feelings about learning the emotions of their animal companions, please let me know. I'm willing to use the last of the potion to ask.
Additionally, it seems that the thoughts of the creatures in the forest are as distorted as their bodies. I could understand them, but I couldn't "understand" them. I did learn that the geese are very angry. For those of us who have been investigating the forest, I thought this would be of interest.
Thank you for your time.

ask about the animals, damiananother new hex code... dextera will have to learn these new people soon, but for now, he's content to make conversation with a total stranger. ]
It's hard to describe. It sounded as if they were of multiple consciousnesses in one individual, all speaking over each other. I think whatever mutated their bodies changed their minds, as well.
As for domesticity, no. Everything I've encountered so far has a really incredible bloodlust.

[This is, of course, no less disturbing for Damian, lover of animals. Shit.]
What animals in town have you spoken with?
no subject
They have nothing in particular to say, except that they're quite hungry.
no subject
Do you have feed for them? They require a special diet. It can perhaps be made here.
I would allow them to free range in the gardens others made, if I were you. They are good bug hunters, if there are any bugs at all. A lot of their nutrients are acquired from foraging.
They'll also need grit to help digestion unless they're free roaming.
no subject
You know so much.
I've been feeding them scraps of the vegetables that have color and letting them eat whatever else they find from the ground. For their home... we have a fenced area for them to keep them from running off. Is that "free roaming"?

If you want to put them in the gardens, I'll assist you in building a coop for them. Their presence would benefit the growing plants.
I can still help even if you want to have them where you stay. The coop will keep them safe at night and dry when they want to enter and roost. We can create a mechanism that dispenses the eggs into a box for easy retrieval.
Are these the only domesticated farm animals in town?
no subject
They do need a proper coop, though. Someone else has offered to help, but I think it's the sort of thing that could use as many hands as possible.
And the chickens are the only "normal" animals that weren't brought in from the outside, if that's what you're asking.

So regardless of whether or not the gardens are graced with the poultries' presence, as long as they aren't confined horribly, Damian is alright with it.]
It can be built by a single person, [a single INTELLIGENT person] but favorably more would be better.
Chickens will do for now. Perhaps more animals will show up later.

[ for now... damian does not need to know about the spideer...
the lobsters were a welcome surprise comparatively, but dextera thinks his house got the best end of the "crates of live animals" deal that hit them a while back. beautiful black chickens! ladies! ]

That's fine.
[There's a long pause between the first half and the last half. It's been a week or so, but being a Bat is so frustrating.]
Just call me D.

I can contact you again when the weather is nice and we find some supplies, if you'd like. You can also come see the chickens before then.
[ dextera is no stranger to codenames or hidden identities... "dextera" isn't even his real name? he has no idea what his name is. ]

[Oh........... After a long pause, something else comes through:]
I would like to inspect the chickens to see how they're doing.

I live in Bluo. You're welcome to come any time, even if no one is home. Mine is the house with the chickens. [ duh ]
