Hello, everyone. It's Dextera.

I've recently come into the possession of a potion that allows me to speak with animals. It's limited in both quantity and effective time, but with everyone coming in recently, I've noticed that there are a lot of new animals running around the town. If anyone has very strong feelings about learning the emotions of their animal companions, please let me know. I'm willing to use the last of the potion to ask.

Additionally, it seems that the thoughts of the creatures in the forest are as distorted as their bodies. I could understand them, but I couldn't "understand" them. I did learn that the geese are very angry. For those of us who have been investigating the forest, I thought this would be of interest.

Explain what you encountered when you tried to talk to the ones in the forest. What exactly did they say?

Additionally, were there any animals in the forest that seemed more easily domesticated or approachable?

another new hex code... dextera will have to learn these new people soon, but for now, he's content to make conversation with a total stranger. ]

It's hard to describe. It sounded as if they were of multiple consciousnesses in one individual, all speaking over each other. I think whatever mutated their bodies changed their minds, as well.

As for domesticity, no. Everything I've encountered so far has a really incredible bloodlust.

I didn't go far. There are a few animals that lurk near the edge... but they're just as angry as the rest of the things I've seen on quests.

I'm still nursing a burn from one of the geese.

I think it was a reward for defeating the Jorogumo in the forest. I'm surprised it had such a mild effect.

Considering everything we've seen about the town so far, I think that's the most likely explanation. The animals that look "normal" don't seem to have any especially strange thoughts.

No, I don’t think so. I guess if it can’t make noises, I can’t speak to it, but other than that, I don’t suspect there are any limitations.

I think she was. It’s hard to tell, when animals don’t speak like we do, but I think she’s happy to be taken care of here.

I feel bad for them. Being stuck that way.

Some people prefer to live that way, but I don't know that animals have the same sentience. It's probably just painful, to be trapped in such a body.
