Hello, everyone. It's Dextera.

I've recently come into the possession of a potion that allows me to speak with animals. It's limited in both quantity and effective time, but with everyone coming in recently, I've noticed that there are a lot of new animals running around the town. If anyone has very strong feelings about learning the emotions of their animal companions, please let me know. I'm willing to use the last of the potion to ask.

Additionally, it seems that the thoughts of the creatures in the forest are as distorted as their bodies. I could understand them, but I couldn't "understand" them. I did learn that the geese are very angry. For those of us who have been investigating the forest, I thought this would be of interest.

Not that I know of. It doesn’t taste like anything I’ve ever had before, though.

I am not worried about your reporting faulty results - I am more worried about you and a second party imbibing some mystery liquid without any idea of its contents. That could have been poison, you know. It may still be poison yet, and is causing these strange hallucinations of talking animals.

I don't think it's poison. It could be a hallucination, but it feels real. I think my chicken was being honest.

She's very hungry, but she's happy here. It seems mundane, but I guess the latter could have been wishful thinking.

I must ask - is she speaking Human words to you with her beak, or are you simply hearing her words in your mind?

It's like she's making sounds, and I know what those sounds mean. I suppose I'm approximating what she's saying... or I could be making it all up.

That's all right. Even without an animal, you and I were able to talk, so I don't consider this a waste.
