Hello, everyone. It's Dextera.
I've recently come into the possession of a potion that allows me to speak with animals. It's limited in both quantity and effective time, but with everyone coming in recently, I've noticed that there are a lot of new animals running around the town. If anyone has very strong feelings about learning the emotions of their animal companions, please let me know. I'm willing to use the last of the potion to ask.
Additionally, it seems that the thoughts of the creatures in the forest are as distorted as their bodies. I could understand them, but I couldn't "understand" them. I did learn that the geese are very angry. For those of us who have been investigating the forest, I thought this would be of interest.
Thank you for your time.

I see. And you're certain you didn't ingest a hallucinogen?
[ He's seen some strange shit lately so a potion that makes it possible to talk to animals doesn't sound like complete bullshit anymore, but a healthy dose of scepticism is a good thing to have. Sometimes the answer is drugs, not magic nonsense. ]

I have a high tolerance for hallucinogens. I don't think it was.

Has anyone else tested the potion?
[ aka did Dex do the smart thing for once and let Guren sample the potion first. ]

I asked Guren to try it. He didn't feel any side effects, and neither have I, so far. I really think it's safe and straightforward.

If both of you were able to speak to animals after ingesting it, then it's unlikely to be a hallucination; even if multiple people were exposed to the same hallucinogen, they wouldn't see the same thing.

It's curious that the forest creatures have such distorted thoughts. I have to wonder if they were always that way, or if something happened that twisted them.

I know this isn't my world, but it's what's familiar to me anyway.

[ "glad" is maybe not the appropriate word, but if ryo asked, there's likely no secret he wouldn't spill. ]
