It appears that as a group we've all generally agreed to utilize this forum as a means of sharing relevant information with each other and pooling collectively our experiences as we grow acclimated to our new circumstances, so in a similar vein — a few questions, if you will.

1) Has anything verifiably edible (and safe for consumption) been found in the wilds surrounding this town?

2) Has anyone yet identified a foodstuff that isn't altogether flavorless?

I would not recommend consuming an imp under any circumstances — and when precisely were you fighting imps, to begin with?

And I admit my skillset runs only to preparing fish, not catching it. But fortunately I have an acquaintance who is a deft hand at it, and who I'm sure wouldn't mind taking a student or two.

I've only made do with the nonperishables scrounged up around the city. I've yet to venture into the forest to do any proper hunting or fishing. Though I suppose I'll have to start sooner or later, if I'm going to work out how to make a meal out of any of these things.

You're right, though. It all tastes like ash, but if we try to live off of canned leftovers of gray mystery meet, it's probably not too good for our bodies compared to actual living animals.

sure i could use ways to fill the hours

we have no tv music or internet
hell i dont even have a proper fucking camera
or weird dead things to jar up

also my skills are currently i can boil water and put things in it
and make toast
and poptarts
i mean i could make poptarts if i could find poptarts
although thats just opening the bag and eating as is unless you toast them
and raw poptarts have a certain something to them so who bothers sometimes
toasters are a luxury item anyway so sometimes you have to just raw your poptarts

On the other hand, there's a relatively low likelihood that food that's been processed and preserved will be poisonous for human consumption.

With wild animals, one takes their chances.

There are in what used to be general stores. There's some but not a whole lot.
It doesn't seem like there was a huge fight or anything.
If there were people, they just left. I think.
