You're cooking a goose? As in, like the ones found in the woods?

[So he's just gonna do it.
Yep.]

I see. And you have to kill it yourself?

That's all I can offer to you.
[Because after finding that out, kid Nanjo decided not to ask such questions anymore.]

[That's actually useful information!]

- Clean the goose outdoors; it's a messy activity and you will have feathers everywhere.
- #4FB6C3 already mentioned this, but boiling the goose makes it easier to remove the feathers. One minute in boiling water is enough.
- Pull the feathers away from the skin in the direction of natural growth. Pulling against their natural growth pattern damages the skin.
- Place the goose on a flat surface with its breast up. This will make it easier to control the incisions when you gut the goose.
- Take care not to puncture the stomach and intestines. Fecal matter and undigested food can contaminate the meat.

Thanks.
Guess I've got a lot of feathers I'll have to pluck.

Plucking feathers is easy, but time-consuming.

[He's also guessing you spectacularly failed that goose-catching quest...]

I didn't know we had so many goose preppers here though.

It's not terribly uncommon information, I suppose. Anyone who knows much about cooking usually knows some about it.
