Okay, so, a couple of things.

First off, probably useful for people to know right now: there's silver in them there hills. Forest, I mean. There's silver in the woods and you really have to look for it because it's buried, but it's out there. I found a ring in a chest, and I have a feeling given this place it's not the only one out there.

Second off is magic. I keep seeing people on the forum offering to use their talents to help make things better for everybody around here, so I guess I figure I should throw my figurative hat into the ring on that one, too. I was telling a guy recently that my magic is kind of like clay, and the spells I can do are like molds for it. Just because I've got molds for hearts, stars, and horseshoes right now doesn't mean I can't someday figure out how to make clovers and blue moons, too. It's just...working out how to do it, the first time.

Example: I've overheard enough people complaining about there not being any hair gel around that I went and figured out how to simulate it with magic. I don't need it myself but hey, trade me a favor and I'll do your hair for you, if it means that much to you. I'm a helper.

But yeah, I figure if I can do that, then maybe I can do other stuff, too. Things people think the town needs — above and beyond just putting on music for the local prom, I mean. So I'm taking ideas, if you've got them. I can't make any promises, but...you know, I want to help. Even if it's just really random, stupid little conveniences. Like maybe I can enchant a bathtub to heat the water you put in it or something, I don't know. I'm good at tricks like that, it's kind of what I do.

Third thing, and this is kind of out there but I just wanted to see if anybody else has been having thoughts like this too. Does it ever seem as though this town is, like...some kind of entity in its own right? Like a thing with a will of its own?

You think so? It seems like kind of an empty contribution, in a way. Like, yeah, it makes people happy for a little while, but that's all it can really do.

At this rate I should just open up a magical hair salon, I guess. Cut, color, wash, and style.

"Incomplete", huh. That's an interesting way of looking at it. So you think that us being here, that's supposed to complete the picture somehow?

It's basically glue that you put in your hair to make it easier to style. Guys use it to be stylish.

You sound like you've had some kind of experience with the town being autonomous to back that up.

Shit, I don't know if I could do every bathtub. I could maybe do one. Same thing for going Sorceror's Apprentice with the buckets.

You think there's some kind of tension there? Like, bad things in the forest, good things in the town? Some kind of cold war standoff?

As for the town, no, I can't say I have personal experience. More like a feeling, I suppose. Everything just seems too strange and bizarre for what's happened to us to be the work of mere mortals.

If there was actually someone involved in all this, I definitely think we would've run into them before now. People slip up, right? Especially when there's so many of us. But, nada.

I guess that would be a lot of things to enchant, wouldn't it? One of my friends has a fire quirk, so I guess we could handle the heating part on our own okay. What kind of favor would you want if you could enchant the bucket?

There could be. I've been wondering if #FFFFFF and the town are trying to restore the color while the thing in the forest are trying to steal our color. Color seems to play an important part in this world here.

It's more than just a little while. A song someone likes can help them any time they remember it, and knowing that there are still peaceful times is important, too.

I'm just going to go on the record and say that I'm completely aware you're baiting me into asking you what "bufu" is, so I'm walking into this with full knowledge of what I do.

I don't know. Sometimes people slip up, but I wouldn't underestimate people. There are some people out there who are just that good at running the long con.

I guess. But I think given the choice between a song and a hot bath, I'd probably take the bath.

Is that what you use music for? To help?

I'm told it's pretty great, by people who swear by it.

You think it's the work of divine intervention, then?

A "fire quirk"? I've never really thought of fire as quirky, personally, but to each their own.

A bucket that just drags up water when you tell it to? Ummm. I dunno, what kind of talents do you have? It's a barter economy, I've got something you want. Have you got anything I might want?

That doesn't make it meaningless, though.

I guess you could say it's to 'help'. Really, I use music to make people happy. Even sad songs can be cathartic.

[ A lot of them here have arch-nemeses or unfortunate guardians or whatever, but he hasn't heard from many people who think theirs would be able to pop through some kind of cross-dimensional bullshit to find them. ]

Oh yeah, I guess I should try to remember to explain whenever I use that word. Quirks are what we call powers back home. So a fire quirk is just a fire power.

I guess it depends on what you're looking for? I can cook, draw, fight... I guess I could help you out if you needed someone to test new spells on?

Yeah. He does it sometimes when I piss him off. Tosses me somewhere and leaves me there awhile until he feels like dragging me back again.

I'm surprised he hasn't come to get me because the going theory is that this ISN'T something he did, and he's not the kind of guy who likes people fucking around with his own master plans.

That's pretty selfless of you. And that's what you've been doing around here? How you've been pitching in, I mean.

That's all I CAN do right now.

I mean, I can cook and clean and I know some first aid.

But I don't have magic and I've never been in a war or anything like that. Music is the one thing I can do that most other people here can't.
