[Until she got home and it was just her and Shiho, she hadn't even realized that they'd been gone so long. Or well, she learned afterwards that Shiho did know but hadn't told any of them as she navigated them all home in a way that avoided everyone patrolling the harbour. Then Shiho told her when they were back and well, as much as she wanted to just go to sleep after everything she had to at least let everyone know they were fine.]
this is kaoru. me, shiho, midoriya-kun andei-chan eijirou all made it back okay. i'm sorry if we worried anyone. i didn't think we'd be gone this long.
so anyway...there are monsters under the water too. and it turns out if you try to explore underwater the way we did when we went into the forest it does that creepy thing where it makes it so you can't see anything around you.
except there's no fog. because you don't get fog underwater! it just turns pitch black.
we ended up being kidnapped by these bootleg mermaids who don't understand that housework should be done regularly so they don't end up with a HUGE backlog of chores. i guess they did make it so we could breathe, but like, they're still kidnappers! and ugly! and terrible home-makers!
2/10 for hospitality, would not recommend for marriage.
anyway, we ended up back on the beach after we were finished and we have these neat pendants!
funny how this place keeps giving us clothing and accessories...but a lot of it is pretty ugly. if someone wore all of it together...i can't even imagine how that would look. it might be worse than the clothes we found in this place and i didn't realize that was even possible!

they had silverware! me and midoriya-kun had to clean a whole pile of silver and do their laundry too! shiho said ei-chan had to weed a garden and feed the bootleg mermaid's pets.
...you know. it hadn't occurred to me to leave without cleaning.
[Because she's a Good Child and so was the entire group that ended up in this mess.]
now that you mention it, i didn't really question why we could see...there were just a lot of more pressing concerns.
[Like where the other two members of their group had gone.]

[Now he has to go find out.]
Interesting. Do you know what their clothes were made of? What sort of plants they were growing or the pets they had?
You didn't even look out a window or the cave entrance to see if they were nearby making sure you did the chores?
[Mikleo isn't suggesting they should have done it, just curious if they tried.]
Can you remember if they had lamps or perhaps plants that glowed in the dark?
[Wondering where the rest of the group was is a good thing to be concerned about.]

[She actually...doesn't know the original ending of this particular fairy tale. But now that she's talked about it she kind of wants to go see if she can find it...and then probably cry over it because WHO WOULD WRITE AN ENDING LIKE THAT?]
i can't really tell what the clothes were made of. if shiho were there she'd know.
it was seaweed! and their pets...shiho said they looked like fish with electric plugs for tails?
we didn't...we just sort of assumed we should do it. and well, they must have been desperate if they resorted to kidnapping.
not really...i was too busy trying to learn how to polish silver and we had to figure out how to do laundry underwater too...
[Also none of us remembered to ask this question to the mods.]

[ Even if the mermaids in it are different from the ones here in Chroma's town, at least he'll learn something about these fishpeople. Or the fairytale people know about them, anyway. FAIRYTALES ARE JUST BAD, KAORU. ]
The fact that they have clothes, silverware and even gardens is amazing. A whole civilization is thriving down there.
I have to wonder why they were that desperate. Surely they must do housework at some point or the water would be filled with their unclean items.
[ Mikleo: asking questions no one thought to ask the mods. ]

i hadn't thought about that. but you're right, if they didn't make those things themselves it must have come from somewhere.
actually, we've found a lot of the creatures we run into seem like they've just been...put there for us to find? it was like that when we tried to explore the forest anyway. i wonder if it's the same and they were just there to stop us from going further?

Finding something as durable as silverware would be easy but clothing and even gardens are things that don't last very long without care.
That is always a possibility. Something to keep you from investigating too far out. Though it brings up the question of - how do they know when and where to appear? Is someone directing them or are they drawn to us?
no subject
i really don't know. maybe its that ffffff guy who's sending them after us?
no subject
Forgive me if I missed it but did you announce your intentions on the network before setting off?
[ Mikleo is still adjusting to this whole "network" thing. ]
no subject
no. i did tell akira. it's like going hiking, right? someone should know where you are in case of an accident.
no subject
Did you tell him over the network or was it something you spoke about in private?
no subject
i sent him a message! but i guess i should have told guren-san too...
no subject
So then he was the only individual who knew outside of your group? I'm merely curious to know if perhaps our messages are being monitored by an outside source.
