Good morning. If I may, I'd like to make a request for some minor assistance, from anyone in the town who might possess the requisite expertise to assist me in a small endeavor of mine.

Recently, I came into possession of a cat; I expect some residents of Chroma may have seen it wandering around, as I believe it was a stray prior to my adopting it, and as such it is already accustomed to something of an independent lifestyle as opposed to that of a more domesticated housecat. She's rather distinctive — cream-white fur, with black ears, face, paws, and tail. Her name is Pearl, though I'm not certain if she's had that name long enough as yet to recognize it as her own. If you should happen to see her around, please be kind to her; if you happen to see her getting up to something she shouldn't, please either let me know or simply apprehend her and bring her back home.

In the interest of responsible pet ownership, I'd like to have her fitted with some sort of collar and tag to help identify her when she decides to take herself for a constitutional. Ideally, I'd also like it to include a bell or rattle of some variety, though that's largely a whim for my own benefit, as it would make it easier to identify when she's getting up to mischief around the house.

Assistance in this endeavor would be much appreciated, and I'll naturally recompense your time and industry accordingly — with the offer to prepare a favorite meal of yours, perhaps.

Judging from some earlier comments, I would think you might have some bigger concerns than simply finding a collar for your cat. Kittens can be quite troublesome, you see.

Truly, I don't know how it is that I always seem to end up plagued with kittens. Two of my acquaintances have a regular knack for finding and rescuing them, and I always seem to end up in the middle of it all.

Ah, every social circle needs at least one person to be the designated caretaker, I suppose. It's good that your acquaintances have someone so responsible to rely on!

I'm not sure I would call kittens a plague, however. They can be a handful, but aren't they rather lovely?

They did, to an extent. Of course, they also had kittens to be playing with, so there was an undeniable distraction occupying part of their attention.

Regardless, in the event that there are in fact kittens, I suppose we'll be better prepared this time than those others.

I suppose I cannot blame them. When it comes to earning someone's attention, kittens could very well be considered unfair competition.

Incidentally, if you do happen to wind up with unexpected kittens this time, what do you intend to do with them? Do you have anyone who could help you with them?

It'll depend on the number of them, I suppose. Obviously I'll be keeping Pearl, as she's the responsibility I've accepted, but I'm not sure that our house really needs two cats. We're already quite the menagerie between the hens and the chocobos.

And I've had at least one request to adopt, so it may be that we have to seek homes for them among the population.

Chocobos... So that must mean you're friends with Noctis-san and Prompto-san, correct? They... wouldn't happen to be the cat-enthusiast acquaintances you've mentioned before, would they?

As for putting the hypothetical kittens up for adoption, should I take it to mean it's something you're seriously considering?

Ah, which of the chocobos did you meet, out of curiosity? I presume it was Spot — that's Noct's black chocobo. Prompto's is still a baby, and I feel as though I would've noticed if someone had "borrowed" my Aurorean.

Yes, I believe that was the one. Prompto-san has shown me some pictures of his own chocobo before, but I haven't had the chance to meet it yet. Is your Aurorean also a baby?

And I would appreciate that, if you and your friends truly wouldn't mind entrusting a kitten to a near stranger. Although in such a small town, I feel like we are all at least vaguely acquainted with each other.

Ah, no, Aurorean is full-grown. He's a convenient source of transportation when it comes to rougher terrain, though on a road I still much prefer a car.

Also, with regard to the kitten adoption, I've still several weeks before they're ever born. Rest assured that's plenty of time for me to vet you and your friend thoroughly.

I see. I understand a car has several advantages, but on the other hand, a living creature like your Aurorean means you have familiar company-- aside from your friends, of course. That's a valuable resource in and of itself, I reckon.

How terrifying! However, I was hoping to make a surprise, so I'm wondering if there's any way you can run a background check in secrecy?
