Once upon a time, there lived a young man in an azure district. While his family wanted for nothing in terms of wealth, the man's heart sought one most felt was beyond his reach. His heart's desire was a poor but comely man who hailed from the crimson district, and his beauty had already drawn several suitors from that same district to his side in the hopes of claiming his heart for their own.

The young man despaired, for he knew to approach his love whilst hailing from another color would be a fruitless effort indeed. Thankfully there was another, a true friend, a young woman of the brighter, sunnier district, who was there to offer her assistance.

I feel as though I should preserve the image, but no.

The places I... fought back where I was from didn't need real weapons. If I had model weapons that appeared real enough that someone could perceive them as actual weapons, they would work as such.

If your enemy thought you had a real sword, it would injure them as a real sword would.

Yeah. And they'll probably be able to fly, right? Which puts us at a disadvantage -- unless you can secretly fly. I've met some people here who definitely can.

I have, too. Unfortunately it's not an ability I possess.

But, if it helps to know, I have abilities revolving around ice. Perhaps I will be able to freeze their wings or weigh them down so they can't fly as easily.

Perfect. I've got a sword, and I'm pissed off to be running errands for the assholes keeping us here. So that's what I bring to the table.

Well, if the harpies are in a high area, rope may be necessary.

And it would be wise to have something to mark our way as we go.

I'll find some rope. Besides that, I'm not certain what we'll need. Perhaps some emergency supplies like food or a way to light a fire.

Pardon me for interrupting, lads. Trying to hunt something that can fly with nothing but one sword and ice sounds like quite a difficult task, however, and I believe I might be able to offer my assistance. Trapping them would be much easier than trying to chase after them, don't you think?

Bait them down to our level, then capture them while they're in range. Making a simple sling is easy enough - that can be used to get their attention. If there aren't any nets laying around, I have one of my own.
