Well, it's a huge animal. It might be best for me to try making it in an open space instead of my backyard. If we're breeding it, taking care of it would be a full-time job - I mean it'll need a disproportionate amount of food to begin with. And I imagine when it relieves itself it'd be enough to fertilize the forest.

That being said, if I'm successful, and you have the means for it, we can store its meat for a while after killing it, and that's a good enough reason for me. What's your name?

And I'm rather useful in the gardens as well, I can make plants too. If you help me with the farm, I'm certainly going to help you with the garden. Bring your friends.

I feel as though this is an excellent time to reiterate, if you're willing to provide the raw ingredients, I'm more than happy to provide you with a share of the finished culinary product. Perhaps we can reach some sort of permanent arrangement.

That's fine by me, because given the chance I would just eat whatever's the sweetest thing I can find on hand all day. Do you know what ice cream is? You can start with that. Otherwise a seafood salad would be fine.

I can and have made ice cream here before. It takes a mild bit of effort, but it's not altogether difficult.

I've also something of a knack for pastries, if you like those.

Speaking as someone who once cultivated a great deal of volunteer service in exchange for the promise of hot fries, I'm well aware of the things that tend to motivate people.

Food is certainly a great motivator. Very few people are swayed by the promise of it unless they're better than making it for themselves, and even, it usually gets spread around for everyone else. It's always interesting to observe how people get together for something as simple as eating.

And yes. The one and only. You can come visit anytime.

Perhaps we'll have to invite you the next time the house has a mass breakfast. Then you can observe all you like.

And that's understandable. I used a pseudonym for my first several weeks here, myself, simply because I wasn't particularly interested in using my real name until I had the lay of the land first. So I understand the impulse to keep things under wraps, as it were.

(And even if I were a cop, what laws here would I have the authority to hold you accountable to, really?)

The name Giorno Giovanna only matters to those who know of it, and they're not here. All for the best, even if it gets a bit lonely - so it is.

Cops don't just forget who they are, no? I think that's the same for most people. You get transported into a different place, you rely all the more on something that makes you feel comfortable, something that anchors you, until it's time to adapt.

I've got a bad thing for authority, anyway. Too stubborn for my own good.

And I don't think anyone forgets who they are, regardless of the circumstances they're thrown into. My motivations and priorities have been essentially the same here that they were where I came from, though admittedly I've had to modify them slightly in response to the circumstances of our current situation.

If you're aware of your own stubbornness, may I ask why you haven't sought to change that habit of yours? Without condescension, I'm genuinely curious why you wouldn't seek to alter it, if it's something you seem to perceive as a flaw.

I haven't changed it, because there are uses for it. If the situation demands for it, maybe I will.

In any case it's not detrimental, but something that might come up depending on the situation. And I'm not so foolish as to inconvenience others over myself.

I see. In other words, where that tendency as a flaw might be called stubbornness, as a strength it might be called being steadfast or determined. Hm?
