I think it was my reward from when Kaoru and I found the sphinx. It showed up around then, but then I was kind of busy being trapped in an ice palace and didn't ask about it right away!

I would be wary regardless of what you decided to do with it. If you found it around here it’s bound to bring trouble or benefits, and there’s very rarely an in between. Make sure you have someone around who can help you if it ends up being a malicious sort is the only advice I can offer.

I didn't try throwing it. When I was trying to eat it, that wouldn't have done me any good!

Well, not necessarily. But I've had rewards that didn't come with some sort of caveat, too. Like, for example, it could hatch into something that reflects your inner self or something like that.

Not that I'm saying that's the case, of course. It's just something to be wary about.

That was just an example. You should try looking around the library for any mentions of eggs in the fairytales there.

i'm not sure you have much of an option there? i mean, if you don't hatch it, it's going to die eventually. that's kind of how eggs work.
