Hello everyone,

I have a simple question to ask: What sorts of traditions do you have back home centered around this time of year? What is your favorite?

There are many of us who are experiencing our first holiday away from home; so let's bring a bit of home to Chroma for the holidays, in whatever way we can! After everything we've been through, I believe we should take time to celebrate who and what is most important to us.

Yours,
Lux

Admittedly I haven't had much to celebrate in recent years, but when I was younger I enjoyed the holiday. My town had a small festival every year and everyone would bring food and gifts they made for their friends and family. Makes it interesting when you know just about everyone.

The world I’m from has been part of a war for a long time and my home was attacked. I couldn’t quite get behind the innocence and cheer after that.

[ COLOR ]

Traditions vary from titan to titan in my world, but generally there is a festival of some kind for the solstices.

If you don't mind me asking, do you have any holiday in particular in your world around this time of year?

Oh, yes, I apologize! The continents in my world are living beings. We call them Titans.

And... in Snowdown, do you celebrate the snow falling down?
[ Legit question. She doesn't know anything about it! ]

In my world, they are, yes! Although I realize that this isn't the case in other worlds.

All festivals are more or less about coming together as a community. It makes me wonder if this world had anything of the sort before...

Back where I come from, the end of year holidays have different meanings depending on region. In my country in particular, Christmas is a largely commercial day when people decorate their homes and exchange gifts.

[ COLD. But capitalism is real, and he never really had anyone to spend Christmas with, anyway. ]

Ah, I suppose lovers do like to spend Christmas eve together, though. I can't think of any other country where this day has quite such romantic connotation.

There is one where I come from, too; it's called Valentine's Day. I don't think Christmas Eve is celebrated much differently from Christmas itself, although I can't be sure about other countries. Speaking for Japan only, though, it's simply that lovers have co-opted the former, for whatever reason.

Keeping morale high, though... That almost sounds like you're talking about going into battle. Would that be correct?

I understand. Under those circumstances, it's no surprise marriages would be a matter of convenience.

Still, you did mention something about what the holidays should be about, other than boosting morale. I'm curious as to what that might be, in a nation that seems geared towards battles.
