#030066 - Defense Force, and a Question

It’s Dextera, again. I’m sorry to post something again so soon.

Guren disappeared a few days ago. He went home. He told me that Zelda was intended to take over the Defense Force, but it looks like Zelda has gone as well.

I don’t want to take it over. If there’s anyone who thinks they’d like to run it, I believe Guren’s notes still exist. Please take them.

[ even the text is dripping with despair, honestly. ]

And, I have a personal question, unrelated to the Defense Force.

What would your ideal world look like? If you could create something entirely new… what would you want in it?


( just as it says, there’s currently no one running the defense force! if anyone is really interested in taking it over, feel free to make an ooc post about it or put it up for discussion or whatever you feel is best, otherwise both zelda and guren’s players have said they’re fine with handwaving it! )

Well, let me know.

[ They pause, not wanting to overstep any boundary, but also knowing there's no point in asking him if he's alright. It's okay to skirt around that part, in their opinion. They have to assume what they heard from him recently is the motivation behind that second part of this post. ]

As for your question, I don't spend time thinking about things that I can't do. I don't know if making something completely "ideal" is even possible
But, who knows.
That wish still might come true, if that's your idea of "ideal."

[ is there really no way to make an ideal world? perhaps the archangel is right in creating a world without conflict or strife, but then, none of them here would have formed the precious bonds that they have without some kind of shared trauma. ]

It’s a kind of ideal. It is for me, anyway.

But maybe for someone else, it wouldn’t be. Is it not possible to make a world that everyone would enjoy together?

I don't think everyone can be pleased equally.
Besides, it seems to me that for some people, it's less a matter of what the place they're at is like
Than what kind of people are there.

[ They are of that opinion. Chroma is ideal in comparison to where they lived before, in a lot of different ways. ]

I’ve been thinking about it.

But I think you’re right, too. It matters who’s with you, wherever you are. That’s why so many people are content in this town.

I don't know if "content" is the way I'd describe it...
There's definitely room for improvement.

What about staying here? Have you ever thought of that?

I thought about it for a long time. When I first got here, this world was better than anything I’d ever known.

Now that people are disappearing, though… it’s too lonely.

Well, being without someone you've grown used to,
It's disorienting.

There's not...anyone you have to return to?

[ They have to assume most of the people content with staying here - they're of the kind that have little, or nothing to go back to. ]

My brother is here. He’s the only one.

The world I left has nothing.

[ that is… a lie, but he can’t get into it here. ]

So that's what you mean by "anything" being better.

Finding a way to get back at all
That's not something you're concerned with?

I wasn’t. I think it matters more to me now.

But I don’t want to go until we can guarantee our futures.

You really think we'll ever be able to control something like that?

From this town… I think so.
