#030066 - Defense Force, and a Question

It’s Dextera, again. I’m sorry to post something again so soon.

Guren disappeared a few days ago. He went home. He told me that Zelda was intended to take over the Defense Force, but it looks like Zelda has gone as well.

I don’t want to take it over. If there’s anyone who thinks they’d like to run it, I believe Guren’s notes still exist. Please take them.

[ even the text is dripping with despair, honestly. ]

And, I have a personal question, unrelated to the Defense Force.

What would your ideal world look like? If you could create something entirely new… what would you want in it?


( just as it says, there’s currently no one running the defense force! if anyone is really interested in taking it over, feel free to make an ooc post about it or put it up for discussion or whatever you feel is best, otherwise both zelda and guren’s players have said they’re fine with handwaving it! )

[ luckily, she doesn’t need to, because dextera answers the door—looking a little tired, very sad, but he’s up and about. it’s not nearly as bad as it was when guren wandered into the forest. ]

[Him being up and about is an improvement for sure and she is visibly relieved when she sees him.]

Hi. So... cider? [She holds up a jug which is ever so faintly still warm to the touch because she’d heated it a little.]

What is it?

[ dextera accepted the offer because it’s shiho, but he doesn’t actually know what apple cider is? ]

Juice. [It had seemed like a good idea at the time. Something sweet that could be warmed and used to keep his mind off sad things, but now that she's actually standing here, she's hesitating a little.]

Or did you want alcohol? I could get you some. [i.e. break into Wei Wuxian's house and steal some]

[ …she jumped to alcohol so quickly. dextera shakes his head, though he’s touched that she would change track in an instant like that. ]

I like juice.

[ so he invites her the rest of the way in, to take a seat. come on over, shiho. ]

Well.... good. [Because she really shouldn't be breaking into people's houses, no matter how easy she thinks it would be.

Clutching the cider like a lifeline, she follows along.]

I can warm this up. Unless you want it cold, then I'd have to get snow or something for it. Which do you want? Have you eaten?

[ shiho is worried about him. dextera can sense that, without any kind of psychometry on his own, and it warms his heart more surely than any cider would.

he’s tired. he’s miserable, in fact, but he still has a dear friend here who cares about him. ]

[ he shakes his head, gentle. ]

Warm is OK. I haven’t eaten.

[She's gotten better at lighting fires (without the use of a flamethrower) at least. It's especially helpful that her old uniform had come with a survival kit.]

Then I'll warm it. You can come and help me. [And she's going to make something? Probably something simple that's already been made before in this house.]

[ helping is a good way to keep himself distracted from all that’s going on in his mind, so he doesn’t protest when she clearly states that he will help. he merely nods, and leads her over to the old-timey stove. although they have plumbing in this house now, and also a car nearby (???), the kitchen is still relatively antique. ]

Do you need… help?

Well... [She doesn't need help.

But she definitely wants him to be distracted.]

...Yes. Will you light the fire or something? I don't want to get my hands dirty. [....not that she would. But it's a good excuse? She's always told people that she likes being bothered.]

[ dextera nods. he’s a good, dutiful boy, so it doesn’t bother him at all to go light a small fire on the stove. with estelle gone and joshua brooding, dextera has learned how to start a fire all by himself, without any magical assistance. he’s a regular boy scout. ]

Will this work?

Of course. [And with that she's going to use her psychometry to find a pot for the cider, setting it down to warm up.]

Help me cut some vegetables. [She's not even asking at this point.....]
