Oh! Yes, we have things like that. So what makes this ... ah. Television? Different from a live performance?

Usually we get things spread out a bit. Like instead of having to do it in one sitting, you have to wait a week for the next part of the story. You can watch it again too when they're shown again.

They're shown on these things called TV's? Kind of like these laptops we're using but without the keyboard. Some people get CD's that contain all the episodes or watch their own recordings.

Theatre's probably more special in that you can't recreate it and every performance is different even when they do it again, but, television's good enough for a lower budget.

Being able to re-watch at any point must be really convenient! I definitely do like the idea of that. I'll have to ask some of the friends I've made here if they have that in their worlds ... I know some of them are a lot more technologically advanced than my world tends to be.

Yeah, there's really a lot of different backgrounds people came from, not just culturally, but in time... It really makes you think.

Performance arts would have made for a nice date concept too. Too bad we live in the middle of nowhere.

Oh, yeah, that would have been cool ...

Maybe making some spots for recreation might be something we can focus on as a community?

That doesn't sound half bad actually. I know a lot of us have enough to not worry about survival things, so making life actually more bearable and... well, *fun*, would be good.

Owns a cafe here, so that's ... something, but I know Kaoru and I were talking a while back about clothing stores, if someone enjoyed making them. And if we could find the materials. But that's not all we could bring to this place, definitely.

A cafe? I should look out for it. I've kind of just been getting by but I finally realized, I shouldn't resent this place just because I'm stuck here. At the least, the people are mostly fine. I should give it a visit.

A clothing store would also be nice, having to alternate between two pairs of clothes lost its appeal fairly quickly. It's cheating a bit, but I think I can figure out how to speed the process up with psychic powers.

Some of the quests give items right? Maybe if we get really lucky. But otherwise, it would be nice if we could grow things and raise more animals.

He operates it out of the place he lives in. It's in Bluo, if you want to drop by sometime. He's a very talented chef and he does a good job with what little we have here. I work there to help keep the place clean so if you drop by I might see you, too.

I think a clothing store might be a little harder to get going, but yes, I do think that's something that should be kept in mind. We're kind of starting from very little here, so it will take some time to get things going.

So then you have psychic abilities, too? My friend Kaoru has psychic abilities. I'm surprised it is as common as it is here.

I live in Bluo, actually. I could become a regular if money's no object. Or well, whatever barter system might be in place... but I don't want to just take for nothing.

I may not be planning to stay, but I feel like whoever occupies this after we leave almost owe us. Then again, we are staying in their houses, whoever *they* are.

Yes, I've met Kaoru, and they use the esper term from where she is too. But, I think the circumstances for espers there are harder. I guess I'm a bit lucky I'm treated so normally by my family.

What about you? What kind of powers do you have?

I think Rin usually just lets people eat without any charge, but if you really want to barter or whatever you can work that out with him. I wouldn't really be able to say what he'd accept in return. He seems to just want to help out as much as he can.

I don't think any of us really plan on staying, but as long as the choice isn't ours I guess we can make the best of it, right?

Ah ... well, in my world, we call my abilities 'artes.' They're learned through my soma. Uh, my weapon. Well, it's actually my friend's mom's weapon, but ... I guess it's mine now.

Anyway, I have some healing abilities and some elemental offensive abilities, and I kick really hard.

Under normal circumstances, I'd say it's naive but- I guess this place has miraculously summoned mostly kind people that he hasn't felt the need to be on guard. That's fortunate.

Healing abilities are very useful. They're pretty rare in the espers where I'm from. And knowing how to fight is always good.

I don't appreciate the regular hassling we get from the town outskirts. Sleeping at night without worry is such a far off memory.

I like that we've ended up with mostly nice people. Making friends in this place has made it easier to accept the unusual situation.

Yes, being able to heal has definitely come in handy here. I don't know how many others here have healing, so I'm glad that I'm one of the ones who can. Especially with how often the unexpected gets tossed at us ...

I guess that's fair. I'm used to keeping one eye open at night, so to speak. For the last several months before I was brought here, I was ... kind of a wanted criminal. My friends and I kind of got caught up in the middle of a brewing war.

Does making friends come easily for you? Mine kind of... happen by accident. And I don't really know, proximity probably shouldn't count.

A criminal, huh. That's pretty intense. You sound sincere so I'll hazard a guess it's one of those things where your group's for the little people and the people in charge were no good.

I've never thought about it, but I guess so? I made friends pretty easily when I got here, and I made friends easily enough with my friends back home ... I was pretty sheltered before my brother and I sneaked out of our hometown.

But then the military blamed the church for it, and vice versa, and the both of them have just been aching for a reason to go at each other for a long time, so it's a giant mess and now we're pretty involved in it and. Yeah. I was pretty upset when I was brought here, because there's just so much going on back home that I need to be there for.

I eventually just had to accept that there was nothing I could really do about it at the moment and accept that my friends should be able to take care of things back home ...

It's good to have people you can count on. My situation may not be as extreme, but just like anyone else, I'm worried about my family.

Older. I miss him. If he knew I was going on a date with someone, though, he might try to kill my date before I even go on it, so it might not be so bad that he's not here.

It ... well, the thing that caused it, yes. After, though, no. I was barely alive after.

[ Alive, yes. Without all but one of her emotions, though. It took a long time for her to get back to normal after that, and in doing so, the despir was fixed as well. That didn't exactly help the war situation, though. ]

I think, no matter the situation, it's normal to worry about the people you care about. I still worry, but I also trust them, you know?
