While the efforts are appreciated, I can't help but feel this plan is flawed.

Precautions have been taken on the off-chance there is, in fact, an ingestion attempt. It shouldn't be too hard to force out a gag reflex from the inside. Being drenched in saliva in the cold is less than ideal, but it won't result in death.

... As for backup, it's an okay idea, but I don't really trust most people to not intervene.

Fair point, but I've read majority of the books in the library, and they seem for the most part consistent.

Any outliers would be good for study. People have healing powers too, so it's worth the risk.

They're the first lead I've met that can be communicated with. We shouldn't let this opportunity slip us by with just beating them back. Taking one hostage is also viable, but that would require more coordination, and I'm not really familiar with how to apply torture.

I personally would be for it, even considering making an open invite for others to mentally play our opponents... but I'm not seeing a lot of willingness to participate in this.

I mean, I get why. Not everyone can both fight AND fly. And while I'm not surprised at the discouraging commentary I'm sure people have dealt with much worse back in their respective homes.
