Hey... everyone. It's Keith.

So a couple things. I guess.

First. Someone brought it up already I think. A while back, but people are going missing. I know it's happened at least a couple times. Not anyone I ever really met, but one guy I was assigned to as a sparring partner, but I couldn't find him. It really seems like he's gone. Even his code has been struck from the network. Which seems pretty deliberate.

Is there anyone else?

If people are disappearing, or wandering off and getting hurt or... worse... I guess most people probably have friends to look out after them. Maybe not everyone though.

But even so, if people are disappearing and none of us know how or why. I think that's something we should probably at least think about and what it means for the rest of us.

Second. So I guess it's a little easier now that there are some colors to help remember, but the whole username code thing is confusing in keeping track of who is who. At least it is for me.

If it were voluntary, what do people think about putting together some sort of directory? Something we could keep updated and search by name and/or code.

It might help us keep track of people too.

And... If people do think it's worth pursuing, I'd be really grateful if anyone better at computers than me wants to help making it user friendly.

EDIT: And apparently some people are turning into statues. Which sounds horrifying. Anyone have info on this? Do we know how to reverse it?

[ Color ]

With regards to the disappearances... I suggest everyone keep a close eye on those they don't care to lose.

If nothing else, it doesn't appear to erase them completely. They've physically disappeared, but any memories of their existence seem to remain intact.

[ Which is more than he can say for some, as strange as that sounds. Good news, Keith, he doesn't intend to start anything over a topic he's this invested in. ]

I'm sure you wouldn't remember, no. I doubt any of you would. But, should someone come along suggesting you've forgotten, I recommend keeping an open mind.

It doesn't seem likely their existence will be scrubbed totally from this world, but until someone who has disappeared returns, there's not much to be done except hope that they do.

You'd be surprised how certain one can be in their own mind. If you were to hear that you've forgotten someone, even now, wouldn't your first response be to doubt what you've been told?

If they've made it back home, then by all means they're welcome to stay there. But given how little we know of this place, there's an equal chance that they've been taken.

That's rather contradictory. If your memories filled in the gaps, wouldn't it be the same as being told your own brain was lying to you? To you, it would seem as though they had never existed in the first place. Even if something of theirs were left behind, it would be reasoned away as something else.

I can at least say I've seen such a thing happen before. If it happens again here and you react any differently than they did, you'll have managed to surprise me.

If in your case your friend's memories came back, however briefly, then at least they know what they've lost.

That said, I can't imagine it would be very hard to live your life in ignorance. I wouldn't pity them for it.

I can't say I've figured out how we ended up here, but I'm certain I'm not missing any memories. Nothing happened before our arrival--it was almost certainly instantaneous.

Frankly, magic is a likely cause. We simply need to find the source of it.
crowsigliere: (28 of yours on?")

[personal profile] crowsigliere 2018-04-13 09:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, I was. But I was talking about you--that is, everyone else here. Things work a bit differently for me; some might call it a gift.

[ Or, you know, a curse. Depends on if you're Kyrie. ]

I'm not sure what sort of technology could cause such a mess, myself. Teleportation and a mass loss of color, among other things, seems to be fairly advanced.

The gift of a brain, of course.

In any case, we appear to be from opposite ends of the spectrum... I've been in close contact with magic, personally, and I've seen it do any number of things both to help and to harm.
crowsigliere: (69 you had not come along. How)

[personal profile] crowsigliere 2018-04-15 08:26 am (UTC)(link)
Nearly everyone is right. But, suffice to say, mine is far more reliable. I can be 100% certain my memories are wholly intact.

I'll admit though, I'm curious about this technology of yours. What exactly does it allow?

Like I told you before, it simply does. You'll just have to trust me.

[ Also wow, way to make Kyrie feel stupid for a second there, Keith. Those sure are some concepts he's totally unfamiliar with. ]

Intergalactic travel? I wasn't aware such a thing was possible.

[ Says the scarecrow, from Oz, who met a girl from Kansas and her dog via tornado... But like, at least that was abnormal even for him. ]
