Hello, everyone. This is Link. I'm back, from... the woods. I have been staying in my home while recovering my color. I wasn't able to use my laptop until then, but I can now.

First: is everyone alright? I haven't seen any more dryads since that day. Have we located everyone who was taken by them, and have we confirmed that everyone was either healed or came back as I did?

Second: I have something very important to talk about. Please, if you know someone who has not yet seen this post, tell them to read it.

I am worried about what we've been doing lately with the woods and the Guardians. I had kept my thoughts to myself... I felt that I didn't know enough about what happened, killing the two that are dead so far, and I didn't want to step out of line. And I still don't assume to know better than everyone else here, but... After this, I don't think I can stay quiet anymore.

I don't agree with killing the Guardians. I don't think we should be trying to hunt down the last one.

Unless I'm mistaken, we know nothing about them. We don't know why they're here, or what their purpose is... I know they attacked people, but in my humble opinion, the those of the forest have the right to do so. I don't know what these Guardians are any more than you all, but whether they're spirits, or protectors, or ancient forces of some kind, we shouldn't be disrespecting them, and we definitely shouldn't be killing them.

People can correct me on this if I'm wrong, but didn't the trees start to encroach on the town after the first one was killed? How do we know that Guardian wasn't actually protecting us? And now, the recent attack on the town.

The same could be said about the second one, too. After we killed it, the quests every month began to get strange, didn't they? What if they just keep getting worse and worse?

And ... I'm sorry for what I am about to say. I can't say I wouldn't have done the same, since I don't know all the details of what happened. But I object to people acting on their own when it comes to this stuff, without asking everyone else.

It was irresponsible and inconsiderate. We could be in serious danger now.

If I had known people were trying to find another one to kill, maybe I would have said something sooner and none of these terrible things would have happened.

I'm sure people may respond to this correcting me, or giving extra information, or even arguing... that's fine... but I think we need to discuss what's going on.

I will get straight to the point. Would you like to seek this third Guardian out with me? Your concerns may be best addressed if you witness the creature firsthand.

Your offer is tempting, but I don't think we are even ready for that step yet, do we? Do we know anything about where this last guardian might be, or what it's like?

If we seek it, we will find it. It is inevitable so long as we commit.
As for what it is like, we can only rely on the accounts of those who have encountered the other Guardians. It would seem they are fierce creatures that require all of one's resources to combat. Pyra surmised that the one she fought was tailored to resist the skills of her group.
However, we need not seek to kill any Guardian we encounter at first meeting. If it seems wise, we may simply gather information and re-assess.
If you still have misgivings, you need not accept my offer. I intend to seek out this Guardian regardless.

I see you have spoken to Mr. Tonbokiri. We discussed the possibility of trying to trap a guardian, in order to either talk to it or learn more about it...

Would you be interested in helping with something like that?

I would not want to kill it in this first encounter, unless absolutely necessary.

I have participated in the trapping of a forest monster once before in an attempt to extract information from it. It was not fruitful, as the creature appeared to die of stress in captivity before one day was through.
But if it is still your wish, I will cooperate as long as capture appears possible. It will be more dangerous than a battle to kill, so we will need to exercise all available precautions.

Although I would firmly recommend having some plan in mind before pursuing the fiend, if you would seek it out, I may be of assistance.

It would be better to speak about all this in person, however I shall do my best to write it out, for the sake of others who may be reading.

I believe I would be able to find it again. Should the forest allow it.

We who went to face the fiend were among the most powerful in the town at that time. However it still outmatched us. It is strong, agile, intelligent, and vicious.
I regret to say, it was over almost as soon as it began.
It attacked and incapacitated our healer immediately. Our attacks were countered at every turn. It has a poison that renders one weak - it was nearly fatal on its own. Its claws inflicted wounds that did not heal easily.

If we would face it again, we will have to plan very carefully indeed.

I am willing to attempt it, even if the creature is dangerous.

Maybe you, Blue Saber and I ought to convene to discuss this.

I am in agreement with meeting to discuss this.

If any of you have comrades who have skills that could be of use, let us seek their advice as well.
It would be useful if we could gather further options before meeting.

I am also in agreement. There is no pressing danger at the moment, so we should plan as thoroughly as we are able.
